When it comes to daily physical activities and work out regimens, I try to take time out of my day to partake in this as I know it is important to my future health. Although working out and physical activities are vital for one’s future health, it may be hard to come across in hustle and bustle of each day. As a full time student, and nearly a full time worker, I must squeeze the importance of my health into my life somehow. Although time is tight, I know that my health is more important. I take little actions throughout the day when I am busy or at work and I take more intense measures when free time is open for me. On the two days a week I have off from work, I take physical activities and working out more seriously as time is on my side. On these days I am sure to go on my elliptical for about 35 minutes. I also make sure I take the time to take my dog for long walks. In blatant terms, I like to keep busy and active on my days off, keeping my blood going. When I am not doing these things or the weather is bad for a walk, I will go on my treadmill for another half hour, walking at a medium pace and I also enjoy going on the stationary bike. I am able to use these machines and do these activities on my days off, but I also try to get them in before or after work if I am running early or am released early. I look forward to days off to accomplish these physical activities that I know will benefit me in the future. Enjoying and looking forward to these physical activities is one thing, but time is another. A big challenge I face getting to these activities are my work schedule and school schedule. Most often, I am going straight to work from class at the college, not leaving me any time. By the time I get out of work, it is late and I am exhausted and still have homework to do. However, on these days I still try to attempt physical activity by taking the stairs instead of elevators, parking a little further away, walking around more at work keeping active blood flow. Time and overall exhaustion directly effects my work out routine and how much I can conquer, however I try my best daily to do anything I can as it truly makes me feel better and stronger. Keeping a routine on days off and making sure I do the little things on days I simply don’t have the time for, have been going very well. I am happy with how I have stuck to the determination I have to my physical activities because I have found that it makes my whole body feel better and wakes up my mind to be more alert. It is worth giving up watching my favorite TV shows and movies to get my blood moving on the stationary bike or elliptical. I also am very lucky to have these machines right in my house, as getting to a YMCA or other gym could cause for an even bigger challenge finding the time to get there and also paying a membership fee. Having the comfort of being in my own home is a positive to get me to want to work out, especially when I see the machines all around me. My increased physical activity and workout routine have benefited my strength, mind, and future health which I am very proud of.
