Accountability is the biggest component to NCLB. NCLB include accountability to improve student achievement of all students. To show accountability schools are required to provide their adequate yearly progress through reporting assessment scores, graduation rates, and attendance rates. NCLB pushed for all students to be proficient by 2013-2014 school year (Yell, 2012). According to McLaughlin (2007) to get the best system for accountability general education and special education policy holders should collaborate to find a common ground.
