3. Types of Macro Viruses

Concept Virus – Concept was the first macro virus, appearing in July 1995 and targeted Microsoft Word. Macro Viruses subsequently became the dominant type of virus.

Melissa Virus – Melissa made history as the first macro virus with email worm trait and started spreading via email on March 26, 1999 infecting tens of thousand within hours. It was one of the most serious epidemics in Internet history.

4. Melissa Virus * A malicious program that secretly integrates itself into program or data files. It spreads by integrating itself into more files each time the host program is run. * Melissa works with Microsoft Word 97, Microsoft Word 2000 and Microsoft Outlook 97 or 98 e-mail client. You don't need to have Microsoft Outlook to receive the virus in e-mail, but it will not spread itself further without it. * Melissa will not work under Word 95 and will not spread further under Outlook Express. * Melissa can infect Windows 95, 98, NT and Macintosh users. If the infected machine does not have Outlook or internet access at all, the virus will continue to spread locally within the user's own documents.

Propagation * Melissa was initially distributed in an internet discussion group called alt.sex. The virus was sent in a file called LIST.DOC, which contained passwords for X-rated websites. * When users downloaded the file and opened it in Microsoft Word, a macro inside the document executed and e-mailed the LIST.DOC file to 50 people listed in the user's e-mail alias file ("address book").

Fixes Available * Block messages with the signature of this virus at your mail transfer agents or other central point of control. * Utilize virus scanners * Encourage users at your site to disable macros in Microsoft Word
Yes I did find a few sites that walked me through how to create a Macro Virus, also a You tube video. Below is a simple program of a macro virus… SubMain MsgBox "Illegal function in modul 0xCB15C001",32 FileExit EndSub

-> SubMain -> The beginning of the macro -> MsgBox "Illegal function in modul 0xCB15C001",32 -> Display a messagebox with some fake error message. -> Number 32 stands for the symbol which is displayed on the left -> side of the message box, in this case it is a "!" -> FileExit -> Closes the current opened file -> EndSub -> The end of this macro

I don’t think its very hard to create one, if you are into coding, however I am not that dude. Anytime I see coding no matter for what I believe I have a mental block and make it harder than it really is.

...fit the organisation as a whole and can see that different cultures exists within different departments. There are areas of the NHS where Charles Handy’s ‘Role Culture’ is very evident I.e the different nursing pay bands denote hierarchical responsibility however, expert advise would always be looked for so “little scope for expert power’ does not fit. 1. This affects operations as there has to be the right people with the right skills at any given time. Deal & Kennedy’s culture ‘Work hard, play hard’ also fits as the NHS is constantly changing and prioritising. 2. This affects operations as there is little time for planning and have to work with the staff and resources that they have. 3.1 How 3 HR Activities support the organisation’s strategy. Three HR activities that support the organisations strategy are: 1. Recruitment and Selection - This involves designing organisational structures and identifying under what type of contract different employee groups will work. The right people are then recruited and developed. HR managers compete in the job market to ensure only the best and talented employees are recruited to assist in meeting the company goals and objectives. 2. Performance Management- Once the required workforce is in place, HR managers must ensure that employees are well motivated and dedicated to maximize their performance. By use of various motivational techniques such as promotion, increased pay and benefits such as company cars, HR managers work along...

Team Training

...what was done during our class session. It involved us participating in various activities that would require us to rely on the knowledge and expertise of the other members of the group that we were randomly assigned to. This training session however would be different because of the various cultures, backgrounds, and personalities represented. | The first team training exercise was a game called charades. It required us to learn how to converse with others without the use of words or sounds. We had to compete against the other team, and whoever guessed the most words correctly won the game. This particular exercise teaches the value of clear communication between team members and aids in building relationships. Trusting our ability to read body language was the next challenge and it was the most difficult. We would not only have to guess which person of the opposite team held a coin in their hand but which hand specifically. During this game, we did not trust in one of our members’ judgments and as a team, we should consider everyone’s opinion within the group. If one person has the ability to read body language, we should follow the advice of that team member since they have used their expertise to guess correctly. This is where trust is developed within the group members and is displayed in the support of the final decision. The last challenge took us uphill. During this activity, we had to strategize a way of allowing our team members to fit into a circle that...

Project Management Chapter 5 Review

...Week 5 Review Questions March 2, 2013 1. The project manager’s primary attention must be on activities that are on the project’s critical path because if there is any delay at all, it would cause the project to be delivered late. 2. For any activities on the critical path, there is zero amount of slack. For activities not on the critical path, the slack is calculated by subtracting the ES (earliest start) from the LS (latest start) or by subtracting the EF (earliest finish) from the LF (latest finish). 3. To determine the ES for a item with 2 predecessors, the project manager should look at each predecessor to see if either one of them or both of them are on the critical path. The ES is the later of the 2 predecessor’s LF. The LF for an activity with 2 successors is determined by looking at each successor’s LS and determining which one has an earlier LS. 4. All the activities on the project’s non-critical path will not have the same slack because each of them can have different predecessors and different successors and different timeframes. 5. A. 4 B. 2 & 3 C. 5 6. Dummy tasks are used in situations where 2 activities have the same starting and ending nodes to make sure to be able to distinguish between the activities and not have the 2 activities be considered the same activity. 7.
