Pick an administrative agency of either the federal or a state government. Find where the current and proposed regulation changes for that agency are located on the Internet. (i.e., the Federal Register or the State Administrative Agency website.) Regulations.gov is a good place to begin your research. Pick one proposed regulation change currently under consideration (if you find one that has already closed out but interests you, you can use that instead) and write the following regarding it:
1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interest you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? Submit a copy of the proposed regulation along with your responses to these five questions. The proposed regulation can be submitted as either a separate Word document (.doc) or Adobe file (.pdf). This means you will submit two attachments to the Week 2 Dropbox: (a) a Word document with the questions and your answers and (b) a copy of the proposed regulation you used for this assignment. U.S. Department of Education- This regulation really interests me because this regulation will make it harder for students to receive educations and the percent of college graduate will be lower.
I am a fan of college graduates actually graduating and obtaining their degree. With that being said, this topic has my interest 100%.

2. Describe the proposal/change. (10 points)

...1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interests you. AGENCY: Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, USDA. This regulation interests me because I am concerned about the proliferation of ‘Puppy Mills’ in Florida. These ‘Puppy Mills’ are operated by individuals that are more interested in profits then the needs of the animals they breed or the public. Irresponsible breeders cause an unnecessary increase in the pet population which increases the number of unwanted animals that fill animal shelters and are later euthanized. These breeders also introduce genes into breeds that can increase illness and disease in the animals. 2. Describe the proposal/change The APHIS proposes a change is to the definition of retail pet store from a physical location that is used for the purpose of observing the animal before purchase to any seller which; this would require individuals selling animals over the internet comply to the same set of standards that physical retailers must adhere to under the Animal Welfare Act. APHIS would also like to increase the number of breeding female that a person may have on site and not need a license or inspections; this will allow the agency to focus on the facilities that are most likely in violation with the regulations covered by the Animal Welfare Act. 3. Write the public comment that you would submit to this proposal. I support the rule change in part as it......

The agency under the USDA for which the departmental proposed regulation falls is the Food and Nutrition Service, (FNS); the FNS works to reduce hunger among low-income populations providing greater access to higher nutritional standards with the aid of the U.S. agriculture (www.USDA.gov). The proposal addresses the administrative aspect of local educational agencies, (LEA), on the school lunch program and how best to ensure accurate documentation and assessment of family eligibility. The proposal affects section 304 of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (Pub. L. 111-296) (www.USDA.gov). Why the Agency and Regulation is of Interest The proposed regulation is of interest due to the fact that it will directly affect the lives of thousands of low income children for which my job concerns. As a child case manager, approval of “free” lunches for low income households is often that bridge provides a large portion of daily and weekly meals for many clients. The regulation states that incomplete applications will not be approved; let it be noted that many parents lack the necessary data......

Will this proposed regulation affect you, or the business in which you are working? If so, how? Federal Railroad administration controls the regulation. It interests me because this regulation would increase the safety of individuals. I feel really comfortable and safer since I utilize the rail transportation everyday. There were certain railroad incidents in the past, which cause the public to lose trust and doubt the capability of the railroad employees. Hopefully, the well-designed training program would have the potential to reduce risk in the railroad environment therefore; will reduce the frequency and severity of accidents. 2. ...Administrative Agency Week 2 Assignment MGMT 520 1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interests you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? The regulation I have decided to follow is governed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. As an avid animal lover, I am very interested in the regulations proposed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services. This particular proposal surrounding chimpanzees is close to my heart since there are a great number of laboratories performing testing on chimpanzees every day. Chimps often die as a result of the testing being performed. Chimpanzees are becoming more endangered both in the wild and in captivity. While this proposed regulation has no direct effect on my current business, there would be indirect effects relating to the laboratory experiments or lack thereof. If laboratories were unable to use chimpanzees to test medications and make up for example, there could be a decrease in the production of these products. A decrease of production in these products could result in higher costs for the consumer. 2. Describe the proposal/change. (10 points) The U.S. Fish and Wildlife propose that all chimpanzees, both wild and in captivity, be placed on the endangered species list. After a 5 year review of the species, it has been determined that there should be no distinction between wild and...

...1.State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interests you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? The proposed regulation that is of interest is “Removing Any References to or Reliance on Credit Ratings in Commission Regulations; Proposing Alternatives to the Use of Credit” submitted by Commodity Futures Trading Commission or CFTC. I am interested in this regulation because I deal with swaps trading every day. This proposed regulation will most likely not affect my company because we invest in the more standardized derivatives. We also have internal auditors to oversee how we invest our clients’ funds. 2. Describe the proposal/change. The proposed change is about clarifying and standardizing the current legislation on swaps. As it stands now, the regulations on swaps trading on few and far between. Along with those regulations are privately-run, for-profit credit rating agencies. These two problems combined are how Goldman Sachs was able to swindle their investors and likely why this regulation was originally proposed. Many investors looking to engage in a swap transaction first have to decided what type of swap they would like to enter into. I will use an Interest Rate Swap or IRS as reference for my example (although an IRS is one of the more basic and regulated swaps). An IRS is a swap where investors decide on a......

...State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interests you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? The administrative agency that controls this regulation is the Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives Bureau (The ATF), whose parent agency is the Department of Justice. This agency and its proposed regulation interests me because I am a supporter of the second amendment and I am opposed of any regulations that seek to limit the second amendment. I do not own any firearms, nor do I expect to receive any firearms in the immediate future, but my fiance’s father owns many firearms and, in the future, when he passes away, those guns are likely to be transferred to her and this legislation will affect that transfer by requiring the receiver of those firearms to verify that they are a “responsible person” This regulation will not affect the business in which I am working. That business is Verizon Wireless, which does not deal in any firearms (at least to my knowledge). I am interested in this subject from a purely academic point of view. Describe the proposal/change. This regulation would require a person legally receiving a firearm (ostensibly someone receiving it as a gift or as part of an inheritance) to prove that they are a “responsible person”, furthermore this “responsible person” would have to complete a form and submit photographs and...
