Administrative Tasks

Author Note This research is being submitted on August 18th, 2013, for N234/CET2810C Section 01 Microsoft Exchange Server course.

Administrative Tasks There are a lot of task and duties to be performed by an Exchange Server administrator. I have put together a few tasks that I feel that an administrator will due throughout his career either during set up or on a daily basis. The first on my list is implementing security, by implementing security I mean keeping all software up to date by running Microsoft update on all servers. Also it is very important to keep all client computers up to date along with all antivirus software and Anti-Spam filters, with the anti-spam filters the administrator would have to manually do by installing content filter updates from Microsoft Update. The administrator would also need to run antivirus software on all mailbox servers and client computers. Second on my list would have to be creating mailboxes. With this task the administrator would have to use the Exchange Management Console (EMC). Make decisions on what kind of mailbox it’s going to be such as a User Mailbox, Room Mailbox, Equipment Mailbox or a Linked Mailbox. Then decide if this is going to be a new email for a new user or a new email for an existing user in Active Directory. Then specify the mailbox database he’s going to use and choose the correct archive settings for the user mailbox. Another task an Exchange Server administrator will find himself doing a lot is monitoring and seeing to that everything is replicating and backing up correctly. Also planning back up procedures, the mailbox server backups are the most important tasks I think the administrator will have to do to regularly to prevent data loss. These are just a few tasks among many I think are required to successfully administer Exchanger Server 2010.

New Adminstrative Assistant at Research Branch

...months. Sue’s responsibilities can be categorized in 3 major tasks; (1) Keeping track of the branch’s budget, (2) making your travel arrangements and providing you with graphics and work processing support, (3) providing administrative support for the other four members of the research branch. Although Sue has 15 years of secretarial and administrative experience her performance has been described as less than stellar for the last six months, and specifically over the last month has been unsatisfactory. Sue is chronically behind on the branch’s budget and not able to complete it without repeated help, travel arrangements are not always in line with the workshop schedules, workshop materials are not arranged in proper order, and she’s routinely needs help with any graphics that are not identical to what she was exposed to in training. These issues are complicated, or perhaps created, by the fact that Sue’s personal life can be distracting. The other four competent members of the branch are frustrated with Sue, feel drained by her constant need for assistance, and need to focus more on their own projects and job responsibilities. Sue does appear to recognize the importance of the completion of each task as she puts in a full eight hours day, sometimes with overtime, and is not afraid to ask for help when she needs it. Since it is explained in the case that Sue is very good at following clear instructions and completing tasks she has experience with one solution that may......

...A regulatory agency (also regulatory authority, regulatory body or regulator) is a public authority or government agency responsible for exercising autonomous authority over some area of human activity in a regulatory or supervisory capacity. An independent regulatory agency is a regulatory agency that is independent from other branches or arms of the government. Regulatory agencies deal in the area of administrative law—regulation or rulemaking (codifying and enforcing rules and regulations and imposing supervision or oversight for the benefit of the public at large). The existence of independent regulatory agencies is justified by the complexity of certain regulatory and supervisory tasks that require expertise, the need for rapid implementation of public authority in certain sectors, and the drawbacks of political interference. Some independent regulatory agencies perform investigations or audits, and some are authorized to fine the relevant parties and order certain measures. Regulatory agencies are usually a part of the executive branch of the government, or they have statutory authority to perform their functions with oversight from the legislative branch. Their actions are generally open to legal review. Regulatory authorities are commonly set up to enforce standards and safety, or to oversee use of public goods and regulate commerce. Examples of regulatory agencies are the Interstate Commerce Commission and U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the United States,...

...1. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and your proposed regulation interests you (briefly). Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? The administrative agency which controls the regulation is Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA interest me because of the process of illumination when a representative of the said agency is sent out to process information given by phone is assessed. The regulations that is used by the process of FEMA will affect one's business in case of "Mother Nature" incidents they may occur. 2. Describe the proposal/change. In any organization there are "changes" that is needed to improve any incident that will occur that one is not prepared for. Although FEMA tries to assess damages done in a timely manner, it is impossible to cover so many hurting families at one time, therefore I would perform a change in the process by allowing "hurting" families to gather together in a designated location to interview each other and find out how severe all cases are one by one especially if one stays in the same vacinty. 3. Write the public comment that you would submit to this proposal. If the proposed regulation deadline has already passed, write the comment you would have submitted. Explain briefly what you wish to accomplish with your comment. PROPOSAL President Bush declared 15 counties areas a major disaster following the...

...It is the expectation of the public that, agencies and Ministers of the Crown act fairly, consistently and transparently in making administrative decision. It is in line with these objectives that the public can obtain access to documents under Freedom of Information from various agencies. Smith has the option to apply for internal review but since his access decision was made by the Attorney General personally he has no recourse to internal review. Other than that he would have 30 days to apply for an internal review and must notify the applicant within 30 days of receiving the application and it always better and quicker to apply for internal review before resorting to external review. Anecdotal evidence suggests that internal review can be quick, cheap and most likely can lead to a reversal of a decision. You can appeal to your federal member of parliament in your constituency who may have contact with the Attorney General for assistance in this matter. Your MP would have a considerable influence if he and the Attorney General are in the same party and can possibly lobby on your behalf. This avenue should be last after judicial and merit reviews are finalised. Another subtle way is to appear or ring on a talk-on back radio to publicise your case to get into the ears and attention of the relevant authorities. Mr Smith can apply to the Information Commissioner for a reviewable decision under section 54L of the FOI Act. He has 60 days after......
