My name is Vanita Prashad and I am a junior at the Leonard N. Stern School of
Business at New York University. I am interested in an audit internship position because
I believe that it would provide me with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in the audit practice. After learning about the audit services from various professionals, it has inspired me to pursue a career in audit because of their ability to work with various clients and learn more about the company and financial situations. I believe that I can contribute to the successes of the other students and mine during this internship through some of my previous experiences. I anticipate that this internship would offer an opportunity to attain audit experiences, team-building and networking with business professionals, which would expand my knowledge towards my future career in audit.
Over the summer, I interned for one of the largest union in New York, 1199SEIU, as a Co-op Student Accountant in the Accounts Receivable department. I worked along side a team of professionals to successfully complete day-to-day tasks. I was responsible for entering all account receivable reports, analysis of employer account balances and employer contributions to the funds. I also worked as a research analysis in order to determine accuracy of information in account receivable system and identify trends that may impact future funding for each institution.
I learned how to work with a team of professionals and lead a team on little

projects. I learned how to manage my time in order to meet important deadlines. I gained knowledge about professional mannerisms that further developed my skills. I believe the skills and knowledge I gained from my internship are some of the things that I can
