Adolescents’ Perspective on Bullying and How to Eradicate it: A Survey
Bullying can happen anywhere. It may happen to children or adults in places such as: in the home, at public facilities, on the bus, in the parks, in the neighborhood or at school. Bullying has been a major social problem that is faced by the modern community, The classic definition of bullying by Olweus (1993) is defined as an aggressive, intentional act or behavior that is carried out by a group or individual repeatedly and over time against a victim who cannot easily defend him or herself (Smith, Mahdavi, & Tippett, 2008).
McKenzie (2004) and Stover (2006) agreed that over the past decades, concerns to the prevalence of social problems experienced by children and youth has increased, such as bullying and depression, in addition Donbrowski and Gischlar (2006) stated that bullying robs children of dignity and could have adverse consequences for their social, emotional, behavioral and academic development (Lai, Ye, & Chang, 2008). According to www.bullyingstatistics.com teens or adolescents on 6th to 10th grade are the most likely to be involved in activities related to bullying on a regular basis either as a victim, bully or both.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Adolescents is defined as a young people between the age of 10 and 19 years – they are often thought as a healthy group. Nevertheless, many adolescents do die prematurely due to accidents, violence, pregnancy related complications, illnesses that are either preventable or treatable, abuse or psychological problem such as anxiety and depression that may lead to suicide.
During the span of adolescent a student spends most of their time at school. Bullying is a widespread problem in our schools and communities and has a negative impact on school climate and on students’ right to learn in a safe and secure...

Not until recently was it confirmed that child abuse really existed in Africa generally and Nigeria in particular. Child abuse covers a wide range of behaviour from physical assault by parents or other adult caretakers to neglect of child basic need. Thus the extent of child abuse is difficult to measure, culture around t he world have different standards in dealing in what constitutes child abuse. In Sweden, for example, the law prohibits any physical punishment of children, including spanking. By contrast, in some countries of Asia, Africa and the Caribbean parents are expected to punish their children by hitting them.
