I have several fitness goals that I hope to accomplish by the end of this semester. I currently have no set exercise routine and due to my hectic work and school schedule, I have definitely become out of shape. Also, my current diet is not the best and lately I have been eating fast food several times a week. Although these things are hard to admit, I am very excited for the upcoming semester. I am taking both, low impact aerobics and pilates, and even a nutrition class, and I hope through my education in these courses, I will eventually be able to reach my fitness goals. Specifically for this class, I hope to develop much better cardiovascular endurance and in doing so get my resting heart rate to be in the low sixties. I also hope to be able to run a mile, without stopping, in under ten minutes. Another goal I have is to be able to increase my muscular strength sufficiently and have clear definition and tone to my body. I really hope to develop a stronger core and lose several inches around my waist. I would also love to increase my flexibility and significantly beat my results for the v-sit, push up and sit up tests we took last class. I hope once I get in better shape I am able to set aside specific time every day to work out and eventually develop a set exercise regimen. I also hope that by the end of the semester I will have eliminated fast food completely out of my diet and cut my sweets intake a significant amount. In doing all of these things, I hope to accomplish the biggest goal I have for this class, which is to lose ten pounds. I am only 4’11” and I have been trying to lose these last ten pounds for over a year now. However, whether I lose all ten pounds or not, by the end of this semester I hope to be toned, physically fit, happier and all around healthier.
