Doing business by the heart constitutes using one’s personal biblical worldview and implementing it to “excel to glorify God” (Mulford). The Beatitudes demonstrated business by the heart. In order to do business one must demonstrate an agapao type of love. An agapao love refers to “a love for doing what is right” (Winston). 1 Peter 3:14 demonstrates that fulfilling a biblical worldview will not be easy but part of the reason is because we live in the fall where sin ravishes every part of the world. The first beatitude refers to the poor of the spirit which pertains to one being teachable. Most businesses have people of power who become out of touch with the business. ...February 10, 2014 LOVE (Luv) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1Cor 13:4-8) Introduction: Most people define love as a type of feeling. We "fall in love," or two people meet and it is "love at first sight." The world's definition of the word love is all about self. The world does not just give love to others when it is not beneficial to them. People tend to feel that if you are not pleasing me then I have no love to give to you. For people that are not Christians love is something that has to be earned by making someone else feel good. Powerful emotions accompany love, but it is the commitment of the will that shows true biblical love is steadfast and does not change. “The human personality is primarily comprised of three aspects---the intellect, the emotion, and the will.” (Praxis, 77) Emotions may change, but the commitment to love in a biblical way endures all and is the hallmark of a disciple of Christ. The opposite is also true; Biblical love will not be affected...

Servant Leadership Thesis

...Servant Leadership at Work An analysis of servant leadership and how it applies to my work environment: identify what servant leadership is, what the differences are, and how it applies to personalities in the work environment. Questions: What is servant leadership? How does servant leadership apply to personalities in management? What are the positive attributes of servant leadership in a manager? What values are important in servant leadership? How effective is servant leadership in an organization? Servant Leadership at Work Spears (1996) explains servant leadership as one which is based on teamwork and community; one which seeks to involve others in decision making; one which is strongly based in ethical and caring behavior; and one which is enhancing the growth of people, while at the same time improving the caring and quality of our many institutions. The term “servant-leadership” was first coined in the 1970 essay by Robert K. Greenleaf entitled, The Servant as Leader (Stone). According to Dennis and Bocarnea (2005), “servant leaders are those who serve with a focus on the followers, whereby the followers are the primary concern and the organizational concerns are peripheral. The servant leader constructs are virtues, which are defined as the good moral quality in a person, or the general quality of goodness, or moral excellence”. This, I believe, is a very good description of servant leadership. What this says is that we must apply good moral qualities...
