He sighed heavily, feeling Amaimon's gaze on him. He didn't want to meet those cerulean eye, but after a while of awkward silence he found it impossible to look away. Sorrowful eyes lifted, rather surprised by the look in the younger's gaze. The earth King seemed to be struggling to find words and Mephisto was scared of what they would be. Tears filled the younger's eyes and it made his gut twist with confusion, frustration, and fear. It made him sick to his stomach. He bit his lips as Amaimon spoke, further confirming his monstrousness. 'I...don't think you're a monster...' The time King blinked, confused, surprises. No one had ever told him such a thing, ever told him he wasn't some horrid beast."I'm scared of change....makes everything else …show more content…
Well...I guess that makes sense...your not fond of pressure or royal life...." He shrugged a bit awkwardly. Amaimon had never been one to like the spot light. He hated it the most out of all of their brothers and it seemed as if he shouldn't have been born a king at all. As if his life had gotten mixed up and he was rather supposed to be living some comfortable life where he could work in a garden and draw till his hearts content. "..I would though...that way I wouldn't have had to have been punished by Lucifer when I was younger...." He could take the responsibly of being that old, he was already used to it. He admitted, that was something he'd never told anyone, how Lucifer had scared him so deeply at such a young age that even now he got jittery around such things. It made him feel like something bad would happen, on edge. "...his seraphim..." Mephisto shivered, he'd seen one one recently when Lucifer declared war. It's taken every last strand of will in his body not to show fear. "..you though, you don't like being watched. I get that. Iblis and egyn have it pretty good in the middle," he gave her another shrug, nodding as he did. Yes, he could see the middle for Amaimon. His brother's who were in the middle never really seemed to get in too much trouble, and father never really …show more content…
He'd never said it out loud or even truly addressed it in thought , but those word summed up all of his feelings at once. They hadn't been looking at them at all. As soon as the earth King said this he wondered why he'd never really done to that conclusion, he'd felt it and knew well what they were after when they flirted with him...but now he saw quiet clearly how very transparent he'd been at those dances. He was never real to any of them, even their lust was fake. Laughs and words and sips of dark wine, all fake, all for show. Mephisto began to wonder if anyone has ever actually enjoyed his company at all, of he was as charming or as handsome as all the demons at the dances had convinced him he was. All he was was a tittle to be had, a blood line to breed. He was money, power, respect. He wasn't real. He found himself aching to be looked at, really looked at. For someone to see him. To be real, but now he wasn't really sure what real was anymore. Mephisto longed to tell Amaimon he'd look at him, he'd see the person beneath all the titles and ranks and summoning his courage he whispered "...I'll look at you...the real you.." quietly, even though he wasn't sure he was in a position to make such promises to his brother "It is," he agreed, "though it would be funny to see him be upset," his musings were light, an awkward attempt to shake off Amaimon's earlier words and his awkward
