PAGE 1 * Target Group: TG1(Women 25-30(Working or both?)), TG2(Youth 18-22) * Rationale:
Women vs Generic, Youth vs Generic Ratios [Three year projections sufficient] * Important Ideas: Mother-Child relationship, Customer life cycle revenue, leadtime (Start attracting at 22-25), Tier I v Tier II+Tier III data comparisons in both segments (difficult to obtain both. In case of youth, we can compare the number of colleges in tier-I vs tier II and tier III), Also mention skewed distribution of retail(South>West>North>East). Great opportunities in east.
PAGE 2 * Report(KPMG) states that food, jewellery, tickets and perfumes as high growth categories. While it can be directly obtained from report, better to find independently. What would women want? youth want? * City Specific Private Labels – Providing platform for budding talent.
Eg: https://www.facebook.com/neerajathebrand?hc_location=ufi
Women dig such stuff. Think antiques, handicrafts done by small-time business * Another Assocham Report

* I desperately want to include the classifieds idea because no one will be crazy enough to propose that. Online classified sites like Quickr, Sulekha.com etc do not have a proper, professional feel. Can a target specific classifieds be started by amazon? I have some data about the attractiveness of classifieds as such. What can a woman-specific classified contain (rooms and places on rent, advertisements on various services). Amazon uses a transaction-fee based model on this. * Acquisition means sourcing strategies?
PAGE 3 * Mobile Commerce – Most Indians use 2G networks in their smartphones, right? Will the apps be as useful there? Should there be a redesign of the apps to suit the slower speeds? * Blind copy of Flipkart Ping and Visual Search might not be enough. Is there any improvement that you can suggest? * Some of the interesting top 10 things as wanted by consumers – Touch and Feel, Product Videos, Sizing and Fitting tools helping them exactly determine which cloth, accessory fits them etc * Differentiated media strategy- How to design it for women and youth – tier I and tier II+III * Zenesys Brand Loyalty improvement (Put CLA in Appendix) – Not all suggestions are worth the salt. Be very careful in selecting. P2G3 and P1G3, recheck all the companies once again to be more thorough. * Offline stores to improve connectivity with customers and better last mile connectivity in tier II an tier III (Eg: Flipkart Click and Collect) * Did not understand the price mismatch etc you were describing there

...interaction could be best described as a matrix relationship. In that case there was a dual sources of influence on product and subsidiary management. Stabilizers had experienced an annual growth rate averaging less than 3% during the 1980s. They were considered as a matured industry as all potential applications have already been discovered and no rapid growth was expected. To enter the market, the company tried to convert customers from Barium to Tin (the company’s variety of stabilizer) with initial discounts of 2 – 3% below Barium prices and a better product performance. The entry strategy placed its sales attention on the segments for which price played a relatively significant role. Producers to whom the cost ratio of stabilizers was high. ACE was not the sole supplier of Tin in the market, but for the others it accounted for a minor share of their stabilizer sales. Tin stabilizers were sold through a specialized sales force in all the subsidiaries. They were compensated primarily on a fixed salary and they were able to manage their sales quota through few large clients by offering them discounts. There was Conflict among subsidiaries. Selling was too price oriented which led to the underutilization of sales force potential. Conversion was a time-consuming process and the proportion of selling time spent on it had declined since the mid-1980s. Due to matrix structure performance measurement indices for product management and subsidiary management would be different. Product line’s...

Poker Game

...It was a misty and foggy mundane day in the bright city of Manhattan where I awoke to the sound of whistles christening the air, signaling the matrix of commuters riding to work. As I gently moved my fingers across my rugged face, I could feel the wrinkles, as deep as trenches. I live across the scenic Empire State building where my guitar and I rejoice by playing euphonic tunes. I busked for a living and was in need of money. On the odd day, I would save up to play poker, contemplating and hoping one day that it would lead me to immeasurable riches and fortune. The game of poker is a fascinating game, because despite the silence across table I could sense the players’ feelings of frustration, suspicion and anxiety, exacerbated by the stuttering of poker chips. Although I could sense the inner cry of the players, the game itself is quite calm and serene, a place of tranquility, yet there are murmurs. As I strolled towards the opulent casinos, my mind was a blank canvas, apart from the few momentary mental images of my loose game plan and repertoire of poker faces. I walked through mezzanine of the building only to engulf by the surrounding piercing stares of dilettantes. I could feel them conjuring cynical thoughts of an old grimy man, but this did not deter me from goal. As I pulled the lavish gold embossed chair from behind and took my seat, I called nearby waiter and ordered my poisonous liquor of choice. The awkward silence of the room became palpable, like...

Stealing Buddha’s Dinner Book Report

...While preparing for this book report I found an interview posted online with Bich Minh Nguyen. She said that her reasoning behind writing Stealing Buddha’s Dinner was because her childhood was defined by a feeling of isolation. She also said “It does seem easier now for Asian immigrants to be themselves; a good deal of progress has been made since the early 1980s. At the same time I think the negative idea of the “foreigner” still persists—not just for Asian immigrants, but for many nonwhite immigrants and their descendants, people who continue to be asked: “Where are you from? I mean, where are you really from?”” My generalization of this book is that Bich struggled during her childhood simply to “fit in.” Stealing Buddha’s Dinner reminds me so much of The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. (I used this example in a previous assignment but I feel like it fits so well into the main theme of this course.) Bich is fixated with the idea of trying to assimilate herself into the American culture. In The Mixed-Up Chameleon, the chameleon (Bich) sees all of the animals at the zoo and (her peers) wants to “be like them” in some way. She goes to great lengths to eat American food and take an American name and dress the way other Americans do. I see many similarities between the feelings of lonely segregation that Bich felt and those of the students discussed in the case studies throughout our textbook. Works Cited Nguyen, B. M. (2008). Hypertension Raas Tcm

...Hypertension and the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, otherwise known as RAAS is a complex hormone system that regulates blood pressure and fluid balance in the human body. When blood volume is low, juxtaglomerular cells in the kidneys activate prorenin, which secretes renin directly into the blood stream circulation. Subsequently, a drop in blood volume additionally releases angiotensinogen from liver, in which renin converts into angiotensin I. Angiotensin I is then converted to angiotensin II through the enzyme angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) found in the lung. Angiotensin II is a potent biological compound that causes blood vessels to constrict, resulting in an increase in blood pressure. Additionally, angiotensin II also stimulates the secretion of the hormone aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. Furthermore, thirst or antidiuretic hormone can effectively stimulates the pituitary gland, which could release corticotropin-releasing hormone stimulating the adrenal cortex and thereby releasing aldosterone. Aldosterone contributes to the RAAS system by causing the tubules of the kidneys to increase the reabsorption of sodium and water back into the blood stream. Thus, an increase in the reabsorption of water, increases the volume of fluid in the body, which increases the blood pressure. Once the blood volume and blood pressure stabilizes, these collective effects triggers a negative feedback...

Friedels Text

...The Friedel text is a work created in 1740 by German Pastor, Johann Paul Friedel. He resides in the village Oberweißbach, which is part of the larger municipality of Königsee, located near the rugged Thuringian Forest. The work combines a strange collection of issues, including how to rear and educate Christian children, basic information for the common man, and a history of the perfume trade in the local community. The beginning of the book is intended to assist in the rearing, education and disciplining of children. It illustrates the necessity of raising children in the Christian faith, and references the importance of learning such items as the Deuteronomy and the Lutheran Catechisms. Both of which give us reference into the historical period of the piece. Friedel also greatly advocates that the “fear of God” should be instilled into people’s lives, and furthermore that the “fear of Lord is the genesis of wisdom”. He states that both parents and children must use this fear to rule their decision making and lifestyle choices, and if so will be rewarded with an honourable, joyful life. The book is created to give both parents and teachers a reference guide of subjects that children should learn in order to develop into a knowledgeable honest adult, including reading and writing skills, and basic arithmetic. The piece uses common sense logic and aims to teach the basic skills such as proper greetings, common letter writing techniques and basic mathematic requirements...

...Self CPR... Dear All, Please read this:- 1 Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. 2 You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. 3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home. 4 Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. 5 You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself. 6 HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. 7 However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. 8 Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. 9 Tell as many...
