American holocaust, Colin the death of generation of America Daisy Alvarez had a pitiful dog. She was tired of him because he would make a mess all over her house. She was tired and she threw him in the street. Animal control had found him and took him in and put him up for adoption. He had 30 days to find a home. 30 days passed and nobody wanted him; he was killed. Over thousands of dogs are killed in days because they can't find a home to be at for the rest of their lives. There are a lot of dogs in America who are in cages and are killed for not finding a home. Stop killing dogs for not finding a home to live in. You expect dogs to feel safe and not act violent when you have them locked in a cage for days and only allowed to go out once …show more content…
We as humans also go through the same situation, but we don't get killed for being aggressive. Why do we do that to dogs? If one researches, they find that there are thousands of dogs being killed for being aggressive. They kill healthy dogs that are in good condition. In the article, it shows the way dogs are being killed when there is nothing wrong with them. Killing healthy and treatable animals is debilitating and demoralizing for the people who have to do it (para 3). Killing dogs that are healthy because they have problems like aggressive, anxious, sad should not be a reason to kill dogs. This is showing how dogs are misunderstood for their actions that are caused by people, which triggers them to act the way they do. While some will cling to their beliefs, the truth is undeniable, we are the solution to the problem of changing the past of dogs. There are a lot of dogs in America who are in cages and are killed, after a certain day of not finding a home to be stable at. Helping dogs find a home and wasting the money the good way instead of wasting so much money on killing

...Rhetorical Analysis of The Perils of Indifference by Elie Wiesel As part of the Millennium Lecture Series hosted by the White House, notable author, Noble Peace Prize Winner, and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel delivered the speech The Perils of Indifference on April 12, 1999. He delivered this speech in order to inspire the American people to take action in times of human suffering, injustice, and violence, in order to prevent events like the Holocaust from happening again in the future. Through the use of the modes of persuasion, his rhetorical situation, and word choice, Wiesel successfully appeals to his audience of President Clinton and his wife, the members of Congress, Ambassador Holbrooke, his “excellencies” and the rest of the American public. Wiesel’s main point in his speech is that of indifference and what can come about because of it. In order to successfully define indifference to the audience and persuade them to never be indifferent in the future, Wiesel defines its etymology, as “no difference” and uses numerous comparisons on what may cause indifference, as “a strange and unnatural state in which the lines blur” in circumstances like light and dark and good and evil. To prove that indifference is both a sin and a punishment, Wiesel appeals to logos and ethos, stating that he is aware of how tempting it may be to be indifferent and that it can be easier to avoid something rather than take action against it. Wiesel, a survivor of the Holocaust, addresses the issues of the 20th century in his speech while at the same time explaining the dangers of indifference. Wiesel’s appeals to his audience, as well as his strong message and arguments are what make this speech so effective. In any powerful speech, the speaker communicates and relates directly to his or her audience. Elie Wiesel does a superb job of doing this in his Perils of Indifference speech, given in April 1999. His use of pathos throughout the speech makes the audience reflect on his words, and create a strong emotional reaction to what is being said. For one, Wiesel is a survivor of the Holocaust, one of the darkest times in the history of humanity. Due to this, sympathy is automatically drawn to the listener’s mind. When he speaks of his time in concentration camps during the Holocaust, he explains the horrible conditions that people had to live in. He then says about the people who were also there, “They no longer felt pain, hunger, thirst. They feared nothing. They felt nothing.
