The movie stars Bradley Cooper as Kyle and is directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by leading actor Cooper. Kyle is a Texas native who discovers his call to serve God and country later in life due to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This movie follows the events that take place throughout and shortly after his career as a Navy Seal, as well as, the events that take place after his service to his country is complete. Unlike many other modern day war movies depicting recent events, American Sniper does not seem to be written as a modern war propaganda movie to support the war efforts, or made just win various awards from screenwriters guilds and academies, but made as a tribute to the most deadly sniper in history, Kyle. This movie does a wonderful job depicting the struggles both on and off the battlefield that a lot of soldiers have to deal with when coming home from the warzone. This was very well done by Director Eastwood by switching in between the battlefield and home life various times throughout the movie in order to keep the audiences attention. I believe that the true sense of loss that a soldier goes through was not properly conveyed,either due to the cast or the lack of suffering that the family and Kyle himself goes through. LA Confidential (1997) is a combination of a star studded cast and a scintillating detective story set in the 50's. The movie combines all aspects of movie making, from acting, directing, writing, mise en scene and all sorts of film techniques to make one of the most entertaining noir's you'll ever see. LA Confidential (1997) is directed by Curtis Hanson, he doesn't have this prolific history of stunning movies like some other directing heavy weights but he handles an a-list cast and directing duties admirably here.
