Maroon 5 Analysis

...Suzumu Kenan English 100 MW Tiare Picard February 4, 2015 We are not “like animals” Essay Maroon 5 has been my favorite hip-hop group ever since the beginning of their album in 2002, but unfortunately, they took things a little too far this time. A woman stalked by a stranger endures into his sexual fantasy, is the most immoral establishment I’ve seen in a music video. The opening lyrics that introduces the first lines to the song, clearly elucidates the creepiness aura that subsides with the song’s theme. As the song progresses, it lures the listener towards the catchy audacity of the chorus- remodeling the idea of stalking woman to be exceptionally appropriate. The music video has not only made its reputation slightly morbid, but has caught the disturbed attention of the music industry. The music video has wrongly casted out this illicit representation of “stalking with romance” into a romantic perspective, and should revamp their messages that they input into their catchy tunes. The first 10 seconds of the music video has already gotten the audience sensing a dark scenario. The beginning of the music video, we see the lead singer, Adam Levine, portraying a butcher, who stalks a woman under the night sky- if not groping an animal carcass in meat lockers. He begins to follow her through the streets and watches her go inside her home. The disturbing plot continues as he breaks into her home and crawls into her bed while she sleeps, unaware of his presence. The next following...

In Basket

...This assignment was designed put us, the student in a situation where we are placed in the supervisor position. In this assignment put the supervisor in a position of having to pick and choose what tasks to do themselves and what tasks should be delegated out after coming in and finding their basket full of tasks that need to be dealt with. When you obtain the position of supervisor, there is usually far too much for just you to do, therefore it is important to learn what to delegate and who to delegate it to. The most important tasks should be done by the supervisor but as far as things such as someone’s vacation hours and stocking merchandise for the store, those tasks should be delegated out to the assistant manager and to the store clerks. Being a supervisor means being in a role of leadership, logic, common sense, and decision making for yourself, the employees, and for the company. The “in Basket” debate and discussion gives us and our fellow classmates the opportunity to see if we can successfully delegate out certain tasks as a supervisor at a fictitious company. The discussion between me and fellow classmates was a great one and it appeared as though everyone agreed on everything accept for different incidents. The only two incidents where I came across disagreement were in regards to task number 3, and task number 4. These are the examples in which I will be using in this paper as far as disagreeing is concerned. Task number 3 is in regards to the mall hours changing...

A Water Concessioners Porters 5 Forces Analysis

...A WATER UTILITY CONCESSIONER PORTERS FIVE FORCES ANALYSIS 1. Rivalry among existing competitors- Low to Non-Existent. Since it is under concession agreement, there is no other water utility company that can engage any business similar to A Water Utility concessioner, unless granted by the government under special agreement and with full knowledge and approval of A Water Utility concessioner. 2. Threat of new entrants- Low to Non-Existent. Companies that may want to apply for the concession must first comply with government requirements and also must have a substantial amount of capital investment (around 6 Billion Dollars starting capital), not to mention the technical expertise to run and maintain a water utility company. 3. Bargaining Power of Supplier- Medium. Although the primary raw material of A Water Utility concessioner is water which is basically free, the materials used for distribution line maintenance and expansion are quite few. Though this is the case, A Water Utility concessioner still has a slight control on the pricing of these materials unless the raw materials for these items like resin, steel, alum coagulating chemical used in treating raw water), etc. increases. 4. Bargaining Power of Customer- Medium. This is due to the regulated tariff by the government under the MWSS Regulatory office which deals directly with A Water Utility concessioner.\ 5. Threat of Substitute- Low. The small water refilling stations also get their...
