Black Blizzard by Jerry Stanley In the mid 1930s Oklahoma,Texas,Kansas,New Mexico,Colorado got hundreds storms. They were one of the worst in America history. The storms put a bunch of lives in danger. Farmers would have trouble growing crops for their families in the dry lands. Which meant they had to work extra hard. They were already hurt from a bad drought crash on the stock market in 1929. Sense they didn’t get rain there crops failed to grow for five years in a row. Without rain their soil became very dry,loose, and dusty. They did use wild grass to hold all there soil together but they had removed it for their crops.
