All the three songs had an upbeat, and cheerful music. But both “I didn’t raise my boy to be a soldier” and “when the Lusitania went down” conveys a similar message with depressing lyrics and the singers’ voices sounded the same. The main message of these two songs were to stop the war as many innocents were killed and severely affected. “Goodbye Broadway, Hello France” had a more nationalistic meaning and there were more than one singer. The meaning of this song was to win liberty for their country and at the same time it is a way to pay debt to the France. I wish all the three music were less cheerful. I feel the song would have conveyed its meaning better if the music were soft and slow. But, I really liked the lyrics as it were realistic
