Analysis of Team Charter Paper Teamwork is the best way to get something done. The campus emphasis on teamwork is to help prepare students to work well with others. To understand what teamwork really means is also important. No one understands everything. However, it is important to know how to find resources available. The purpose of this paper is to explain the effectiveness of a team charter. Next this paper will incorporate information from a team charter to help support the effectiveness of a team charter. What is a Team Charter?
A team charter is used to ensure the fairness of all team members. Working as a team involves several types of personalities, strengths and weaknesses. The team charter is like a contract among all team members. All team members participate in the team charter to reflect what is important to them. If something was to happen within the team, the team charter would decide the outcome. The team charter also holds each team member accountable for his or her actions. The team charter is very important part of the learning team. Most students do not take the learning teams or the team charter seriously. The learning team portion determines part of my grade; I take the learning team and team charter seriously.
The team charter also contains all the personal information from each member. The personal information included contains contact numbers, e-mail addresses and fax numbers. Upon the entire team agreeing on the team charter, a copy will be submitted to the professor. The professor also uses the team charter to help resolve any conflict within the team. The team charter should contain very detailed information. The detailed information is not only limited to the consequences of not communicating to the team, not completing an assignment timely and not coming to class. If it is not in the team charter the consequences will be hard to determine. Effectiveness of a Team Charter The team charter effectiveness is dependent on the team members. The effectiveness of a team charter can be determined by its content. Working within a team, conflict may arise. Learning how to deal with those unexpected things is very important. The team charter is design to be a contract between the learning team. Participating in a learning team it is impossible to predict what may happen. The different personalities make it difficult to please everyone. Every team member demonstrates a strength and weakness. The team charter is also used to allow each team member to use his or her talents. The goal is to combine all the strengths and weakness to build a strong team. Each team member can learn from the other team members. The experience from learning teams can help to handle different work situations. Conclusion The team charter is vital to the success of a learning team. It is important every member understands the seriousness of the team charter. The charter should also clearly state the expectations of the team. Every member should evenly contribute to the development of the team charter. I personally believe the team charter is a good tool. The charter also creates fairness within the team. Every team member has something to contribute to the team. The charter also ensures every team member contributes evenly. The charter is a very effective tool if it is implemented correctly and honestly.
