Kyrie I from Mass I, has a monophony texture. There is only one voice in this song and it is the singer. With no instruments in the background this piece is very simple. With only voice in this song it is easier to focus onto the singers voice and what he is saying if I spoke that language.
St. Thomas Choir Singing Mattnauspassion, has a Polyphony texture. In this song there are many different things going on from the three different voices from the choir, to the different instruments playing in the orchestra. To me this made the piece really busy.
