Who is a True American? Who is an American citizen? Is it someone who was born on U.S soil or someone who earned their right to be called a citizen? Both of these are correct, but there seems to be an issue on what is a true American? One side believes that they had to earn their right to call themselves an American. They moved from their home country to become an American. While the other side consist of natural born citizenship, whom were born in the United States. They learned from a young age the American way and have always pledged their allegiance to the flag and country. They didn’t have to take a test to earn their citizenship they were granted it at birth, even if their parents were not American citizens. INS is part of the U.S. Department of Justice.”(Oladeinde) Andreza Sleik a now citizen who had moved from her home country of Japan after her naval husband had left for war, so that their son could be a citizen. Andreza was originally from Brazil, but would move with her husband everywhere he was deployed. She left from Japan to the United States alone, and if that was not scary enough she moved her shortly after 9/11. “It was harder to come into the country after 9/11 because of the threat of terrorist.” (Sleik) When her husband deployed for the war she decided it was time to move to America to be with his family because she was with child. She wanted her child to be a citizen, so she came to America on a
