Prologue-Fifteen years ago Resisting the temptation to look back at their beloved home burning up in flames, a couple ran as fast as they could, away from their pursuers behind them. With tears falling uncontrollably from her eyes, the woman clutch the screaming infant in her arms tighter against her chest, all the while whispering sweet nothings into the infant's ear, trying to calm her down. While at her side, her husband kept murmuring to himself, "We will get through this. We will pay them back for what they did to us and take back what was belong to us." After running for a while, they managed to get rid of their pursuers and rest at an inn nearby. They put their belongings down and were horrified to find out their daughter was running a high fever! "Ryuuki! Kagome is burning up! Come quick!" Haruka called to her husband. "I knew it! Her power is much too strong, it is killing her! Oh....What should we do? We can't call the doctor! They'd find us!" cried Haruka, panicking for her dear child. Ryuuki gently put a hand on her shoulder and said, "There is only one thing that we can do for her now...... And we must do it fast, we only have a few days before they caught our scent" Startled, Haruka snapped her head up in realisation. Tears falls as she slowly nodded. They had to seal her powers up, turning her into a normal human. However, this means that they cannot see each other again until the time is ripe. That is the curse of having to seal someone's power up as it eats away their life force, taking away their life. They really do not want to do this but this is the only choice they have in order to keep her safe. Now, the only question is who will do it, Ryuuki or Haruka? Haruka wiped her tears away and stood up resolutely. However, before she could say anything, Ryuuki drew her in and covered her mouth with his hands. "It is either I do it, or we do it together. Don't forget, we are life mates. You and I have our marks on one another, meaning we do everything together. Even if it means turning our daughter into a fragile human, you hear me?" Said Ryuuki. Haruka nodded. Standing before their screaming daughter, they joined hands and poured their life energy into Kagome, sealing up her immense power. Before their very eyes, she changed. Her pair of cute silver ears on the top of her head and her silver tail disappeared. The crescent moon at her forehead implying that she is of royal blood also disappeared, leaving behind a beautiful raven-haired infant on the bed, beautiful but human. For some unknown reason, only her eyes didn't changed colour, staining it scarlet. This is very strange, even for high level Inu Yokai such as Ryuuki and Haruka, their eyes don't changed to scarlet until they are least five hundred years old. This could only mean that her powers are more powerful than they have expected and the sealing will only last until she is sixteen years old. Despite their fears and insecurities, their hearts blossomed in pride that their daughter is going to be one of the strongest Yokai- no, the strongest Yokai that the Demon world have ever seen. But in the meantime, they have to do what they can to protect her until the time has come for them to acknowledge her. The next morning, they leave the inn and went to the Human World for hope of looking for kind-hearted family that will take care of Kagome as their own. They walk for the whole of one afternoon looking for families that they approved of but none appealed. They were all either too rich or busy to care about their children or too poor and misery to take notice of their children. Until they are too tired to walk anymore and collapse on the side of the street. It was actually their plan, to see if anyone sympathise with them and bring them home. They looked a sight, they do. Two people sitting on the side of the street wearing rags, hoods covering their faces and carrying an infant. Countless people walk passed them but none bother to ask what was wrong and help them. Most of them just pretended not to see or just simply avoided them. Things stayed that way until a couple passed by them. They thought that the couple is going to ignore them like what countless people did but they didn't. One look at Ryuuki, Haruka and Kagome is enough for them to come rushing to their side. Without a word, they brought them to their house for a bath and a change of clothing. Apparently, the couple are called Yuka and Shiki Takahashi. They were married for five years and had just lost a child through a car accident. Through the way they say it and wave of sadness Ryuuki and Haruka felt emitting from them, they knew that they have found the right family for Kagome. They knew that this young couple is going to take care of Kagome and love her like their own. That night was the last night that they could spent with Kagome. "Right, one last thing before we leave her to her new home." Haruka took away her necklace from her own neck and put it around Kagome's neck. It was a necklace that her own mother passed to her before she died. It was spelled in such a way that it will protect any descendants of the Yumemiya Clan. It had saved her from many dangers before too. "Anything you want to give her, Darling?" asked Haruka gently. To Haruka's surprise, Ryuuki grinned and murmured a fast chains of spells and channelled it into Kagome's body before Haruka could do anything. "Yup, I'm done." Ryuuki chuckled. She is so going to kill me next time. He thought. Haruka of course knew what Ryuuki just did and rolled her eyes. "You really loved giving yourself more trouble, don't you, Darling?" She teased. "Be careful that you do not get defeated by your own flesh and blood next time, yeah?'' Wrapping her arms around his waist and getting lost in his warmth, she sighed. "Yeah, right! As if that could happened, she still have a long way to go if she wants to defeat her own pops." He smirked. Looking endearingly at their sleeping child on the bed and the woman that he loved in his arms. It was ironic that in such a scenario, there still can be a trace of peace and comfort. However, it was not for long........ The next morning, Yuka and Shiki woke up to find the couple they had picked up yesterday disappeared leaving behind their child. They left her on the bed sleeping peacefully with a note:
-------------------------------------------------
With unspeakable reasons from us, we have no choice but to put our daughter in your hands. We beseech that you treat this girl as your own. We know that you will after spending the day with the both of you yesterday. You spoke with so much emotion for your lost child that we could tell that you deeply loved him. Take this child, Kagome and treat her with the love and care that cannot give her. She is a special girl that you will learn as she grows up. She may gives you trouble but do not blame her, it is in her blood. Please, we begged you. Take care of her and we will not let your care be wasted. After reading that note, they were bewildered. They did not know whether to keep her or to pass her to the orphanage. They have the ability to raise her but they didn't know if they could love her like their own flesh and blood, losing their son in the accident, a part of them had died. Torn between two choices, they didn't know what to do. Until Yuka picked the child up and everything made sense to them. She was a gift from god! After the accident, they tried to conceive again but to no avail. They tried many ways; Traditional Chinese Medicine, Modern Technology, nothing seems to work. Until they suddenly appeared and left this adorable little girl on their bed. Holding her seems like a part of them that had died after the accident had revived. She made no noise and just look up at them with the cutest smile ever. There was no way were they going to give this child away............

Chapter One-Fifteen Years Later BAM! BAM! BAM! "Kagome! Wake up! You're going to be late for school again!" Mum exclaimed, banging on my door, trying to break it down. Opps, I mean trying to wake me up. I groaned under my sheets, why does she always make such a din every morning? I covered my ears and go back to my dreamland. BAM!BAM! BAM! " Kagome! If you don't get up right now, I'm gonna break down this door, ya'know?'' No response....... I sighed when she finally stopped. Throwing the sheets away from my face, I enjoyed the nice cool air before drifting back to sleep........Until I heard her voice again, very softly, but loud enough for me to hear. "I'm going to give you ten minutes. If you don't come down to the breakfast table all washed up and dressed by then. You can forget about having breakfast, lunch and dinner today. The time starts.....NOW!!" Before she even finished talking, I'm already up and running about, trying to get myself cleaned up in ten minutes. There is just no way am I going to forfeit Mum's delicious cooking as much as she can nag. 3......2.......1....... and I'm safe! At the breakfast table just on the nick of time. "Yes! I'm safe!" I cried, punching my fist in my air in a victorious move. "Morning, Mum! Morning, Dad!" I was grinning so widely that they cannot help but get infected by my smile. "Morning, Sweetheart." chuckled Dad behind the daily newspaper. I got up and does our traditional cheek kiss. Mum was at the sink with her back facing me and I could tell that she wasn't in a good mood. Well, that could be fixed, can it? "Mum...." I whined, irritating her more. When she turned around, with my arms opened and wagging my eyebrows, I said, "You know you want me....." I look so funny that Mum just burst out laughing and hugged and kissed me." Yeah, Good morning, Sweetie. Quick, go eat your breakfast and go to school. You're gonna be late!" I laughed and winked at Mum, " Since when have you ever seen me late for school, Mum?" With that I take a few slices of toast between my teeth and rushed out of the door. I can say without a doubt, this is my favourite part of the day. Feeling the morning breeze and sun shining down at me and the feeling of sprinting against the wind make me feel so free and happy! Just when I was lost in my own thoughts, I felt someone approached me, before she even called me, I knew it was my best friend Mashiro! She as usual like to cycle to school, while I like to run. "Yo, running/cycling to school again?" We asked one another at the same time, we giggled and continue our way to school. "Hey, let's better hurry or we have to climb the school gate again!" I nodded and quickened my pace. We managed to reach school barely on time before the school gate slammed shut behind us. We laughed at the poor students outside the gates begging the security guard to let them in. Today’s lesson was just as uneventful as any other day and we had kendo practice after school. I sparred with Mashiro and defeated her badly as usual. All in all, the day just seems pretty boring and normal as usual. Until the time when I am returning home from school with Mashiro; we were planning a sleepover at my house when we saw a line of limousine outside my house and all my neighbours have gathered to see what was going on. I pushed my way through the crowd to get into the house, Mashiro closed behind me. When I finally broke through the crowd, I took my Shinai out, took my stance and charge in. Our small living room looks claustrophobic all of a sudden, there seems to be around thirty bodyguards in the house but what caught my attention were the people sitting on the sofa. Mum and Dad were there but there were three other people sitting on the other side of the sofa. I recognised their faces from newspapers and the news but never saw them in person before. They were the president, the vice-president and the CEO of the Fujiwara Corporation; Japan's richest company and the most powerful. Whether in terms of Japan's economy, or political issues, they hold the most power. In other words, Japan's most powerful and richest people were sitting right in front of me! I looked closely at them and realised that they looked different than they normally did on the news. On the news, they looked cold and indifferent with no emotions showing on their faces. However, in front of me seated on the couch opposite my parents. They just looked sad. Mrs Fujiwara even looked like she was about to burst into tears when she saw me. However, instead of feeling excited or happy, I just felt a wave of nausea coming over me. They really are powerful, not just in terms of wealth and the power they hold, spiritually too. I can see their aura coming out in waves, bringing me closer and closer to destruction. I know this doesn't make sense but that is just what I felt. I just have an overwhelming temptation to get away from them, far away where I can't feel this negative energy ever again. Strangely, it is not threatening; at least not at the people in this house. You might be wondering why I can tell you all this weird stuffs, right? In reality, from young, I am different from people. I can feel and see things that people cannot. Then when I tell someone about it, they think I'm crazy. So I learnt, over the years, to keep my mouth shut and not say anything about the things I see. Anyway, despite my overwhelming urge to turn and run away. I put my Shinai away, looked at my parents and asked, "What is going on in here? Why are all these people in our house? Did you know that our neighbour are outside our house trying to take peek or a snapshot on what is going on here?" Until the second that I opened my bloody mouth, my parents didn't realised I was there. Startled, they looked up and stared at me like they have never seen me before . I've never seen them act like that before, nor have I ever seen that stricken look on their faces. After a minute or so, they seem to finally registered that I have returned and have been staring at them for a while. Mum was the first to regain her composure and stood up, walking to me. "Kagome, as you can see. We had some guests over, could you go and get our guests some tea, please?" Mum had never spoken to me formally before, what is going on here? I nodded stiffly and glanced at our "guests" on the sofa. Wrong move. My knees almost buckled when I saw that they were looking at me! The energy they were emitting seemed to be getting stronger every second that they were in this house. Feeling the need to get away from these people before I start hyperventilating, I swiftly turn and walked into the kitchen. When I finally reached the kitchen, I was relieved that there were no one before my legs gave way before me. Expecting to feel the impact of the hard floor beneath me, I squeeze my eyes shut. However, the impact that I was waiting for never came. Instead, a pair of strong arms surrounded me, preventing me from hitting the ground. "Are you alright?" A deep, husky voice asked. I opened my eyes and almost fainted again. Holding me was the most gorgeous guy I've met. He had long brown hair that was tied up in a ponytail and deep, brown eyes. I blushed and quickly got up, trying to ignore the electricity from our skin contact. "Yeah, thanks." I thanked him and swiftly turned around to face the sink before I melt into a puddle in front of him. What's wrong with me? I've never felt this way before. I chided myself. I could tell that he have not gone away and asked, "Yes? You've got something to say to me?" "You've done well. Most people would have fainted at the sight of Mr and Mrs Fujiwara alone. Not many people can last as long as you do on their first meeting and feel their energy." He said. After digesting what he just said, I suddenly realised that he knew that I could feel their energy! I quickly turned around and saw his grinning face. "How did you know that I could feel their energy?" I exclaimed, bewildered. Nobody knows. NOBODY. Not even Mum and Dad did I tell them about my special abilities. He shrugged, "Well, that's for me to know and for you to find out." With that, he gave me a wink and left the kitchen. I was still thinking about what he had said after I had brought out the tea into the living room. Only then did I realised that I was much more relaxed and ready to face them again. I gave my most charming smile as I set the tea set in front of them, while cold shivers ran down my spine. Well, at least I wasn't hyperventilating. Mum patted the seat beside her and indicated me to sit. When I was seated, Mr Fujiwara spoke and I relaxed at the sound of his voice. After experiencing such a hair-raising feeling from him, I had expected his voice to scare me even more. However that was not the case. His voice is actually rather gentle and fatherly that it calmed me down a little. "Ah-hem, as you may or may not know, I am Fujiwara Ryuuki and this is my wife, Haruka." He indicated to the two woman beside him. The younger woman smiled and the older woman nodded her head solemnly, "And this is my mother, Mai. Today, we are not here as the President, Vice-president and CEO of the Fujiwara Corps. Today, we are here simply as a parent and a grandmother." Beside me, I felt my mother trembled and saw that she was sobbing. I am getting more and more confused by the second. "Do you want to tell her yourselves, Mr and Mrs Takahashi?" Mr Fujiwara asked gently. Tell me what? Mum nodded and looked at me. Looking into her tear-filled eyes, my heart broke into a million pieces. She have never cried in front of me before. Before I knew it, I was crying too. "Mum, what is it? What is it that you want to tell me?" She took a shaking breath and said, "We are not your real parents, Kagome. They are....." With that, she break down into sobs again. I couldn't believe my ears, What. Did. She. Just. Say? Forcing a laugh, I said, "What? Ha-ha, Mum, Dad. Stop joking! This really isn't funny, ya'know?" When nobody laugh, I grew hysterical. "Hey! Mum, say you're joking. Dad, she's joking, right? RIGHT??" I cried. When Dad shook his head slowly, I knew it was true. They really aren't my parents, Dad never lied to me. "How? Why?" I collapsed on the sofa, crying my heart out. I can't believe it. I don't believe it. I DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE IT! Why...... Why is this happening to me? Give me back my life. I want my normal life back! Dimly, I felt a hand on my shoulder and it drew me in for a hug. It was a foreign hug. It doesn't seemed like my mother's cause she is still beside me crying. It is not my dad's because he is comforting her. I never hugged this person before, but it just felt so right, this warmth. It is as if I belonged in it. Before I knew it, I buried myself into this warmth and let it comfort me while I cry my heart out. A hand just kept smoothing my hair and a woman's voice murmuring. After calming down, I reluctantly pulled myself away and looked into the face of Fujiwara Haruka above me. I have never felt so at home before, not even in Mum's arms. But in her arms, I feel like I belong. This is home. I think that I knew that somewhere in my heart, I've already acknowledge them as my parents. But a big part of my mind still demands an explanation. I mumbled a sorry for ruining her clothes but she just smiled sadly and went back to her seat. Mr Fujiwara kissed Mrs Fujiwara affectionately but returning to his explanation. "Before I began my explanation, I would want some privacy. I want everyone except Kagome, Haruka and Mother to go outside." Without a word, everyone left the house without a word of objection, even Mum and Dad. After everyone was out, he stood up and bowed to me. "I must apologised for the impoliteness. But what I am about to tell you is highly top secret and no human is allowed to know. I have set a kekkai around the house so that people cannot hear us and we cannot hear anything from the outside."I widened my eyes at the word 'Humans' but kept my mouth shut, allowing him to continue. "Four hundred years ago, there were five major Clans. They were the Fujiwara Clan, the Yumemiya Clan, the Hanazono Clan, the Miyamoto Clan and the Hyuuga Clan. All of them controls a section of the Demon World. There are five major sections of the Demon World and the Clans take care of their sections. They are Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Spirit. The Fujiwara Clan takes care of the Spirit Yokai, the Yumemiya Clan take care of the Air Yokai, the Hanazono Clan takes care of the Water Yokai, the Miyamoto Clan takes care of the Earth Yokai and the Hyuuga takes care of the Fire Yokai. "These five Clans are always at war with one another, wanting to have more power over the other sections. Some Clan decided to merge with other Clan and formed an alliance. The Fujiwara with the Yumemiya, the Hanazono with the Miyamoto. Only one decided to stay alone. That is the mysterious Hyuuga Clan. Little was known about this mysterious Clan, the only thing that we can be sure about was that they are master wielder of the element, Fire. "After centuries of fighting, the Clan decided to sign a peace treaty and stop the fighting that have lost millions of life. Everyone was happy that the war has finally come to an end, well, almost everyone. The only Clan that wasn't happy about signing the peace treaty was the Hyuuga Clan and they refused to sign. Saying the five sections of the Demon World originally belonged to them. Nobody believed what they said and started discriminating the fire Yokais. After a few years, nobody seen the fire Yokais and the Hyuuga Clan ever again." With that, he paused and took a shuddering breath, as if thinking about something horrible. I listen attentively, never missing a word he said. 'Cause I know that the important part is coming. "At least that was the case until half a century ago. By then, all the remaining four Clans were at good relationship with one another. The Demon World was at peace. That was when I met Haruka at one of the Clans meetings. We fell in love at once and got married. Life was happy then, as we found out that Haruka was pregnant. But things went downhill after our child came out. We found out that she holds all the five elements of the Demon World. Something that had never been seen before. Most Yokai only holds one or at most two of the five elements. She has tremendous power. Power strong enough to take over or destroy the entire Demon World. "That's was when mysterious Yokai started attacking us. Furthermore, it was Yokai holding that lost element, Fire. We knew that the Hyuuga Clan still exists and is targeting our precious child. They are now known as the Urakai. That was when we remembered an old prophecy told by our ancestors, "Every one thousand years, a Yokai Child with powers so great the world had never seen before will be born. With the right education, she will either bring the Demon World into prosperity or destruction. She will be the Strongest Yokai the world have ever seen." "Soon after, we went into hiding. Day after day, we lived in fear and insecurity. Fighting and killing Yokai that are after us. However, it was not for long. We soon found that your-I mean her little body cannot stand the power within her. We had no choice but to seal her power up, turning her into a human. This also means cutting off our ties as parents and daughter until the day she gets her power back. The only thing that reminded her of her lineage is her blood red eyes." Startled, I realised that they were talking about me, obviously. I just don't know what to make of this. "With her now an ordinary human, we had to find for her a warm and loving home that she will live in for the next fifteen years. That was we met your mother and father. They were the kindest Humans we have met so far. That was when we know that they will take care of our daughter as their own. Now, after fifteen years. We are back in this same house, only richer and more powerful in the Demon and Human World, to acknowledge our daughter back." They stared at me meaningfully like they expected me to say something. Well, what can I say?! Being me, I just blurt out the first thing on my mind. "How can you prove that I am your daughter, huh? And do you seriously expect me to believe every word that you just said? Do you know how crazy you sounded? Me, a Yokai?!" I forced a laugh. I was pacing around the room right now, trying to digest what they just told me. "Young lady, you better not use that tone against your parents again, do you hear me?" the granny at the side spoke up. "Parents?! What? Are you deaf? Didn't you just heard what I said? I said HOW CAN YOU PROVE THAT I'M YOUR DAUGHTER!!!! YOU GUYS JUST COME SWAGGERING IN ONE FINE DAY AND TELL ME THAT MY ENTIRE LIFE WAS A FUCKING LIE?? AND EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT CRAZY STORY FROM SOME ANIME???!!!" I screamed, my patience wearing thin. "Kagome, calm down. Listen to us. You want prove? I give you proof. Can you explain why your eyes are different from other? No. 'Cause that is in your blood. Can you explain why you can see or feel things other people can't? No. You can't. Can you explain why you treasure that necklace so much? No, you can't. 'Cause I gave that to you that last night before we left you. There. That's all the proof you can get. Are you happy now?" Mrs Fujiwara calmly explained. I gaped, speechless because she was right, every part of it. "Fine. You're right. But I am not a Yokai. Are you crazy? I am just a normal fifteen year old girl who happens to have red eyes, alright?" I retorted. But with every word I said, I grew less and less sure about who I am. They knew. With a knowing look, they got up of their seat and walked towards me. "Come, it's time to acknowledge your blood." Mr Fujiwara warmly said, reaching out his hand for me to hold. I reluctantly gripped it as they led me outside the house. The moment I stepped out, a scene of horror faced me. "Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"

Ha-ha! It's a cliff hanger. Stay tuned to find out what happened!!!! Who is the one who screamed? xDxDxDxDxDxDxD Read and Review!!!! xDxDxDxDxDxDxDxDxD This chapter may be a bit long but I don't know..... Enjoy~~~~~~

Chapter 2 It was scene from my worst nightmare. Bloody bodies all over the yard, most of the bodyguards are dead, killed. It was a gruesome sight, heads were all over the place, bodies were torn into pieces, guts and blood were everywhere. I clamped my hand over my mouth to keep myself from vomiting there and then. But what caught my attention was not the sight but that creature in the middle of the yard. Crap! It looks like something that just came out from the my favourite anime, Blood+! It towers over three feet tall, eight legs and two humongous feelers and the top of its head. It is disgustingly big and slimy with blood dripping from mouth from all the prey it has just eaten. All in all, it is just freaking gross and scary. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! SAAAVVEEEE MEEEEEEE!!!!!!" A scream broke my train of thoughts. I immediately recognised the voice as Mashiro's and was horrified to see that she was caught by the creature! I also saw Mum and Dad was lying on the ground bleeding profusely. I saw red. Nobody. NOBODY SREWS WITH MY FAMILY!!!!! Without thinking, I grabbed my Shinai and charged forward.

Ryuuki's POV "Shit ! I didn't expect this will happened. The Urakai is moving faster." I cursed. Before I know it, Kagome had already wrenched her hand out of my hand and was charging toward the Mushi Yokai at full speed. "Kagome! Come back! You are not its opponent the way you are right now! You will die!" Haruka cried out, shocked that Kagome has just recklessly charged out like that. Just as Haruka and I was about run after her and fight, Mother ordered, "Nobody moves. I want to see for myself how capable she is and whether she really holds the blood of the two most powerful Clans combined. The Fujiwara and the Yumemiya. I said again, nobody moves. This is also a good chance for her to awaken her Demon blood inside of her."
Mother smiled inwardly. I know that she is planning something, just don't what is it. I can never guessed what Mother is thinking. Never. We nodded and watched fretfully as our precious daughter charged herself into her first battle. The first time we saw her after fifteen years apart was amazing. I thought that my heart was about to blossom and I saw Haruka trying to hold back her tears. She looked so much like us, except for that scarlet eyes of hers. She was shocked at the crowd in her house but even more, we can smell her fear emitting from her as she noticed us. The seal is losing power, she is getting stronger. She have now the power of what the Human World called a psychic. She can feel our power but cannot see it. Let's just hope that she can survive this first fight. The first fight is always the hardest.

Kagome's POV I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my blood. I got a feeling I had never thought would come out on these kinds of situation. I don't want to believe it but without a doubt, I am excited. Excited about killing this creature. I charged straight towards the creature, hoping that he would noticed me and forget about the prey in his hands or feet or whatever that is. When I am close enough, I picked up a rock and threw at it, distracting it. It worked! It was angry and it roared into the sky. I can see it trying to look for the one who threw the rock at it and take this chance to run out waving my Shinai at it, trying to get it to notice me. It roared and threw Mashiro away, changing its prey to me. Okay, oh shit. Now what? I managed to get it away from Mashiro but now I'm dead. Crap! Whatever, let's just run first! I jumped onto the nearest tree and attacked. I brought my Shinai high up and jumped, aiming straight for its head. Apparently, it didn't work. That just made it more angry. It swept me off his head like I'm some kind of irritating fly and I crashed into the tree nearby. I groaned and picked myself up, I seemed to just broke a rib or something. Dang, it hurts! My head also seem to be bleeding. Recklessly, I charged forward again, whacking at its legs. Over and over again, it threw me back like I weight nothing. Before long, I grew dizzy from the loss of blood. Before I finally lose conscious, I saw it walking towards me. This is it, yeah? This is the end. Well, at least I protected Mashiro. My eyes slid shut. Ba-thump! Ba-thump! Ba-thump! I feel straaange......... Why is my heart beating so fast? Why is my body so hot? I gasped as my body grew hotter, like it was burning. I cried in agony as my body bucked instinctively away from ground. I have no idea what is happening. Just that I need to get away from the pain. Then just as suddenly as it came, the pain is gone. I opened my eyes and everything is so clear. It's like everything is in HD (High Definition)! That's so freaking cool! Did I just turn vamp or something? But ouch, the noise! Everything seemed so loud all of a sudden. However, before I can analyse my new sight and hearing. I realised that the creature is stalking towards Mashiro again. It probably thought that I was dead and didn't want to eat me. Well, thanks. You gave me a chance to rest up and I'll say my thanks by ripping you apart. I growled. I ran towards it and was amazed by my new speed. I gripped my Shinai and take a swing at the creature. The creature howled with pain but my Shinai snapped! Frustrated, I threw my Shinai aside and growled. I unconsciously touched my necklace, when it started shining so brightly that it blinded me. When I opened my eyes, I was holding on to a Katana! A real Katana, with a red blade and scarlet jewels on the helm. Just like the colour of my eyes! I grinned and felt power rushing through me. I willed fire into the blade and attacked the creature. I thrust into its front legs and severed it, blood spraying all over my clothes. I never felt so trilled before. I jumped on the bark of a tree and used it as a support for my next attack. I take my time, severing each leg slowly, enjoying its cries of agony. I licked the blood on my blade and grinned. Killing feels so good! I looked at the creature on the ground, writhing around in pain. "Pitiful creature." I spat in disgust. I crouched low, getting ready for the final kill. I bared my teeth and jumped. I sliced the creature into two, killing it in an instance. The blood raining down on me seems like honey, I opened my mouth and accept the blood like a gift, dancing and jumping in the rain of blood. I never felt so much at peace before. A thunderous applause broke me out of my own world. I turned around and saw Mr, Mrs and Mdm Fujiwara and their guards standing behind me. "Magnificent! Marvellous! Amazingly well done for your first fight!" Mdm Fujiwara beamed, her old face breaking into smiles. She walked up to me and pull me in for a hug, despite my bloodied attire. "Amazing! Truly amazing. You really are going to be the strongest Yokai the Demon World will ever know!" She gushed. For some reason, I really feel so comfortable in her arms. Wait, what did she just say? "What?" I looked up, confused. Mr and Mrs Fujiwara grinned and pulled out a mirror. I screamed. Who is that in that mirror? My hair is silver, I've got a pair of cute doggy ears and my face! A crescent moon appeared on my forehead and three red strips appeared on either side of my cheeks. I opened my mouth and stared. I've got fangs. What the fuck?! All in all, I don't look human at all!!!! I heard a snigger and growled. Before I realised it was Mr Fujiwara. He took one look at my face and burst out laughing. "Hahahahaha!!!! You should have seen your face!!!! Hahahahah!!!!!!! What kind of Yokai did you expect yourself to be? Tengu? Buahahahaha!!!!" Embarrassed, I growled and barked, "So? What Yokai are you? Daad....." I called him Dad unconsciously and blushed. Somehow, it didn't feel weird when I call him Dad. In fact, I started laughing and in the end everyone started laughing. "Actually, all of us here are Inu (Dog) Yokai...... Hahahahaha!" Mr Fujiwara choked out between laughter. Wait. What? Inu Yokai? Seriously? I look behind me and sure enough. Wag, Wag. There is a tail!!! I tried to touch it but ended going round and round like a real dog. Mashiro would laugh her head off when she saw me like this. "MASHIRO!!!" I cried, realising that I didn't know what happened to her. I looked around and found her lying on the ground, unconscious. I quickly ran towards her and was relieved that she was still breathing. "Mashiro-chan! Mashiro-chan! Wake up! Wake up!" I exclaimed, shaking her gently. She soon opened her eyes and screamed. "Ahh!! Monster!! Get away from me!" She backed away and looked at me through tear-filled eyes with horror. I realised what a sight must I looked right now, but I can't help feeling hurt that she didn't recognised me. "Gomen. Are you feeling better now?" I asked before turning away. I didn't want to let her see the tears falling from my eyes. "I will ask my father to call the ambulance for you. Just don't move too much or you'll feel even worse." I mumbled. I started to walk away, crying silently. Mashiro was the only girl in school who accepted me for who I am despite my scary red eyes but that was a thing of the past. The Mashiro in front of me don't even recognised me and called me a monster! My heart break into a million pieces, she was my only true friend. Now she's gone. I'm gone. "Kagome?" A tiny voice sounded behind me. My heart lifted and I turned back. "Kagome? Is that you?" My heart soared as I realised she recognised me! I walked up to her and squatted in front of her. She take one more look at me and gasped. "Oh. My. God. Kagome, it really is you! What happened? And what is that THING????" She meant the corpse and my appearance. I take a look at the corpse and back at her and back at the corpse again. I shook my head. "Too long. I'll tell you next time. Come, let's get you into the ambulance." The ambulance came and they didn't find anything wrong with the scene. Apparently, the guards had set up a kekkai around our house so that the neighbours or passersby can only see a house and nothing interesting. Cool. I want to learn that too! After the ambulance went, I walked over to my new family and said, "Okay, now that I know that I am a Yokai and you guys are my family. Now what?" They beamed and parted to let me see a limousine. "Now, you live with us and learn your lineage. Come, we need to get you clean up and rest. You've got a lot of things you need to learn." Grandmother smiled. We got in the car and talked about the Demon World. What is it like? It is like the ones I saw on anime shows? Dark, scary and creepy. Apparently, it wasn't. Because once they heard it, they burst out laughing again. It was actually the same as the Human world. Except that you see Yokai flying around instead of people walking around. Whoa! I would like to see that. Talking so animatedly, I even forget that I was only shivering in fear in front of them a few hours ago. Now we're just like a family. Laughing and talking, trying to caught up in the years that we lost. Before I know it, we have reached their house, soon to be mine too. I gulped nervously and stepped out of the car, opened to be by a bodyguard. I looked closely and realised that he is actually a Tengu. I gaped and he winked before pulling me out and kissing my hands. Crap, I just wished that my tail can stop wagging for a second. Even though, I'm blushing like mad. "Welcome, Oujo-sama. To your new home." He grinned. That was when I looked at the house. It was a traditional Japanese mansion. But hell, was it impressive! It feels like a Yokai is about to jump out at me anytime, I thought before I realised the irony behind those words. I giggled to myself and took a deep breath. This is the beginning of a whole new chapter of my new life..........

Hey guys!! How do you think of this chapter?? I encountered a writers' block trying to come up with the history of Kagome's lineage and finally came up with this!!!! xDxDxDxD This chapter is more about the bonding between Kagome and her father and I kinda missed out some mother and daughter bonding between Kagome and Haruka. I'll try to add that in, in the next chapter. ^3^ Stay tuned!!!

Chapter 3 Stepping through the front door, I saw a scene that I never expected to see in my entire life. There were two neat rows of Yokais of different types, kneeling facing one another, parting a way to let me pass. They really are a strange sight; Most of them don't look human (obviously....) but they are some who looked quite normal - if you see them from afar. However, if you look closely. You will noticed they are very different. There was a drop-dead gorgeous woman with long flowing hair looking extremely human-like, a man with his head severed from the rest of his body and so many other more. It was so unbelievable that I just stood there gaping. So I got a shock when they suddenly shouted in unison. "Welcome back! Oujo-sama!" They actually did the Saikeirei, the most respectful bow in which their forehead touches the ground! Hell, I have only seen the Saikeirei ever been done on those traditional Japanese period drama and now it is being done to me?! What could get weirder than this? I thought, shaking my head mentally. As we walked through the aisle, I take a good look at my surroundings. I felt like I have travelled back to the Heian Era. Everything is just so serene, so beautiful. There were bamboo trees all around with so many plants and flowers. There was even a pond! The entire house was just simply amazing. I have always admired the beautiful Japanese gardens in those traditional Japanese household like the ones that I saw on animes and on magazines but I would never have imagined myself living in it one day! The main building was really big and there are many different sections! Father saw me gaping at the house and smiled, patting my shoulders. "Welcome to your new home, my daughter. This house may not be much but it had held many of our history and events here. So it is really old. I have spent my entire childhood here." He grinned and walked towards the mansion. I widened my eyes in disbelief as I take in what he just said. If he had spent his entire childhood in this house and he is a High-levelled Yokai, meaning that he should be over two hundred years old. Exactly how old is this house?! And how is it possible that it has survived the changes of the centuries? Unless..... I take a quick look around realised that the air in here is indeed different from the air outside the house. I was still doing my mental calculation when I heard a chuckled beside me. Mother shook her head and chuckled. "That father of yours, he just loved to give you more things to keep your mind occupied." She took a look at my face and smiled, "But he isn't joking, every word that he just said is true. This mansion is at least a thousand years old. And you may have already guessed by now, we're in the Demon World right now. This mansion is built in such a way that it is connecting the Demon World and Human World together. We can freely go out into the Human World as our political figures in our disguise during the day and when we come back, we can relax and changed back into our original form at home." With that, she turned around and transformed into her original form. Mother was beautiful! She had long hazel-nut hair with silver strips and her ears are more pointed and sharp. She was a Kitsune Yokai! "Mother! You never told me you're a Kitsune Yokai!" I gasped. "I never said I wasn't." She winked and pulled me along. "Come on, let's go in. We need to get you cleaned up. You looked a sight, you do." Mother chided, stepping into the mansion. I smiled sheepishly and followed her. She leaded me through many twist and turns and I saw countless small Yokais walking around minding their own business. Nonetheless, they still bowed to us as we walked by. I observed the interior of the mansion and found it very much to my liking. Even though Father just told me it was a house of thousand years, but no matter how I look, it seriously doesn't look that way to me. It looks traditional, of course, but at the same time, it looks very polished. Wood of very good quality (I think, at least there's no maggots in the wood nor is it rotten.)covered the entire house from floor to ceiling. The best part is that there is absolutely no creaking sound on the floor when we walked on it. Just the silent 'tap, tap' of our feet on the floor. After a while of walking and chatting, I found out-without a doubt- that I have completely lost my bearings. We had been walking for the past five minutes and I am completely lost. We have gone through god knows how many turns. Exactly how big is this house?? I am starting to get exhausted from all the action I've been through. A wave of nausea swept over me. I stumbled over my feet and lost my balance, bracing for the fall, I shut my eyes. Like Déjà vu, a pair of strong arms supported me and swept me off my feet, literally. His scent blasted at me and I knew that it was him, the drop-dead gorgeous guy I've met in the kitchen earlier on. I would have been really pissed being treated like the damsel in distress when he scooped me up but instead I relaxed in his arms, letting my exhaustion take its toll on me. I don't know if it was the exhaustion or him that make me feel this way, but I am not the kind of girl who like to feel weak and vulnerable . I am so going to tell him off later.......I thought as my eyes drifted close.................... When I woke up, confused and disorientated, my thoughts were not on where the hell I am but on the blasting agony that ripped through my body with every slight movement I made. A whimper made its way out of my lips as I tried to sit up and HE came bursting through the door. I gaped at him unknowingly and cursed, he was too hot for his own good. With his dishevelled hair, worried eyes and his shirt that was opened, showing all his well-endowed body, I almost drooled if I was not in so much pain. He rushed to the side of my bed and gently laid me back down to the bed, I groaned in pain. He held my hand in his and kissed it, "I see that you are awake now, don't you faint on me again, do you know worried we are?" he chided softly while stroking my hair. I tried to ignore the sparks that I felt with his hand on mine. My pain has lessened quite a bit since he came in. I pulled my hand away and asked, "Who are you? What happened? Where am I?" I looked at him distressingly. I looked around and found myself in an unfamiliar room. It looked so traditional, so ancient........ Then I remembered..... The cars...... The people........ The fight...... And me..... "It's all real then....." I mumbled, looking down at my hands, noticing the claws. He lifted my chin with his forefinger and made me look at him. I sighed as I lost myself in his deep, soulful eyes. "Yes, this is all real. I know you are bewildered, but you need to rest, your body is still adapting to the changes in your body. Furthermore, you overworked your body with your first fight." He murmured. He stroked his thumb over my bottom lip and I shivered. His eyes darkened and leaned in. He was so close, so near and he's going to kiss me- BAM!!! Something sounded loudly outside, snapping me out of my dreamlike state, I blushed a furious red and pushed him away. He smiled and stood up, "Rest, we'll meet again." Before turning and walking away. I sighed, rubbing my throbbing head. Seriously, this is too much to take in...... Imagine waking up day one day and realised that your entire life and everything you know was a lie when a group of 'Nobles' came to your house and announced that you are not even HUMAN!!! Like WHAT THE FUCK??!! This seriously sounds like something out of an anime or a Taiwanese Drama..... Sigh.... However, looking at the traditional tatami room around me and my surroundings, it really seems like everything was true and not just a nightmare...... I looked down at my hands and gasped. Oh. My. God. I've got claws!! I scrambled out of bed, forgetting my pain for a moment and ran to the vanity table at the corner of the room. Whoa!! Is that really me in that mirror?! I am breathtaking, I mean....... I don’t look human at all! My eyes, as usual, are red but the resemblance stop there. My face has changed so much I don’t even recognised myself!! On my forehead, there's a red crescent moon and there are three strips on each of my cheeks. Oh God.... I think I have just turned Demon.... Wait.... Did Father told me that I'm a Inuyokai before I fainted? I cautiously looked behind me and sure enough, I've got a tail!!! Whoa.... Mind blown situation right now.... From a human, I've turned into a DOG??!!! Taking a deep breath, I released it in order to calm myself. I stepped out of the room and found myself in a long hallway with no one in sight. With my new highly enhanced five senses, I quickly found a door with a lot of unfamiliar scents and noise coming from inside. Determined to get my answers, I pushed opened the door and stepped into the room. Immediately, the room became quiet and everyone stopped whatever they were doing and stared at me. Apparently, I have just intruded on a celebration of some kind as all the different Yokais were sitting around with a drink in their hand. Awkwardly, I apologised, "Sorry if I intruded on something, I am looking for Mr and Mrs Fujiwara....''

During the festival of Ganesh Chaturti, the last time devotees get to see their beloved lord Ganesha is before immersion. But no one knows what happens underwater. This film is a blend of fact, myth & fantasy, which talks about the journey of an immersed image underwater. All the immersed clay images, each one with innovative iconography, get animated (indicating the presence of prana). Their energy and merrymaking finally make the God himself appear, to collect prana from all the images. This leaves inanimate clay objects, which quickly dissolve into formlessness. But in the world of anime, or Japanese animation, they're among the top 10 films ever made. You've seen it-colorful cartoon characters with big eyes, spiky hair, and small mouths. And you've probably heard about it-Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, Ponyo, was the ninth highest-grossing film in this country on its opening weekend last summer. With its complex plots and moral messages, anime is as intelligent as some of the best feature films. Take Grave of the Fireflies, written and directed by Isao Takahata. According to film critic Roger Ebert, it's one of the most powerful anti-war movies of all time. Or Paprika, directed by Satoshi Kon and animated by Madhouse Studios, a visual masterpiece where reality and dreams collide. From the epic fantasy Ninja Scroll and the cyberpunk Ghost in the Shell to the sci-fi romance The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, anime has something for everyone, whether it's romance, action, fantasy, adventure, or mystery. No wonder its gone mainstream, with thousands of young fans flocking to anime conventions across the country and teens from all socioeconomic and racial backgrounds trading cards, collecting art, and, of course, watching it on TV, DVDs, and the big screen every chance they can get. Anime dates back to the closing days of World War II, with fans here developing a cult...

Since then, anime has evolved into a worldwide phenomenom with numerous franchises and large fan bases. Among them is AKIRA, a cult classic film revered as the “quintessential anime” and one of the best anime and science fiction films of all time. Initially created by Katsuhiro Otomo as a manga in 1982, the first half of AKIRA was later adapted into a feature film in 1988. The film has since opened the eyes to what filmmaking, art and storytelling could be in anime like Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and it demonstrates truth behind its gruesome reality like in Fernando Meirelles’...

Anime Affects Student's Study Habit

...“A study about the effects of watching Anime to the study habit of high school students.” A. Background of the Study Anime is a type of cartoon but rather, it is complex, mature, broader, and even the animation drawing is on a higher level than that of a mere cartoon. Anime, which originated in Japan, is drawn by a “Mangaka” (artist) into manga (comic) drafts. These drafts are then rearranged, colored and synchronized by a hundred of staff. After the sequencing, a “Seiyuu” (Voice Actor) will give life to the character. One second of movement needs twenty-five to thirty-five drafts of drawing. Since it originated in Japan, most of the Animes shows the culture and hidden beauty of Japan, its technological advancement, friendship, love and student’s life, the Japanese way. Popular nowadays, Anime had touched the heart of many viewers. Some popular Anime such as DragonBall Z, Ghost Fighter, Naruto and Voltes V. This Animes had dominated the media industry in the past few years. Japan has a very unique culture. The Philippines, on the other hand, lacks that kind of culture, that is, its very own culture is made of by the mixture of cultures of other countries such as America, Spain and China. Fansubbing and Distribution in the Age of ‘Piracy’

... it costs money to keep running, clean, or accessible to the public. Some people want to travel to some far away land and see a landmark, eat unique dishes with the locals, or even just catch up with the family…but not everyone can afford buying a plane ticket to such places. Or afford to learn how to speak the native tongue. Fansubbing, the activity of placing an aftermarket textual overlay on top of a video stream for the sole purpose of translating any audio or video contained within into another language by a member or group of members of the fan community, can trace it roots back to the 1970’s[1] when on military personal from the United States brought or sent VHS tapes home to friends and family from Japan, sparking interest in Anime in the United States. First it started off with small AV club showings in High Schools and Universities. Members would gather together to watch the tapes they received, but would always run into the same issue: What were these people saying? It was one thing to have a person in the room who perhaps spoke Japanese to explain it (perhaps poorly), but it was something else to be able to hear the characters and be able to follow along with text. Around that time, members of clubs who had good or general knowledge of the...

Anime

...recognition in America. Known increasingly by the Japanese term “anime”, Japanese animation is gaining recognition as a medium that appeals to children and young people. Anime has had an undeniable effect on American popular culture. For example, many children’s cartoons, such as The Powerpuff Girls and Kim Possible have begun to use an anime copycat style, “anime looks [were] leaping from the screen” at last fall’s 2 fashion runways , and Hollywood blockbusters either use animated scenes directly (Kill Bill Vol. 1) or borrow imagery from anime (The Matrix Trilogy). Though the effect anime is having on the visual style of American entertainment and fashion is easy to see, the implication of anime’s growing popularity for its country of origin, Japan, are much less clear. In the following discussion, I will report my findings on the basis of a poll, and take a closer look at the role anime plays in stimulating interest in Japan, and the ways in which interest in anime and Japanese popular culture are closely related to an interest in Japan. It is in fact difficult to tease the two apart from each other, since it is impossible to participate in anime fan culture, except at the very shallowest level, and not be exposed to other forms of Japanese popular culture and traditional Japanese culture, and thereby be encouraged to explore them further. Anime and its relationship to interest in Japan are useful to consider in...
