I believe that the United States should have annexed the Philippines because if they didn’t the Philippines would have soon have been taken over and been misruled, and if we gave them away to another country it would have been putting them back into the controlling hands that we took them from. The first reason the United States should have annexed the Philippines was because they would have soon had anarchy and misrule (Doc. C). This shows that it would be bad to let them be independent because their government wasn't strong enough for them to support themselves.
