Dear Ramirez Family:
I am thrilled to finally present to you the enclosed report on planning our upcoming family vacation to celebrate our parents’ 25th anniversary. The report contains my recommendations on where we will be going, activities we will be doing and the estimated price the trip will cost each person.
My recommendation is that we go to the Dominican Republic. It has been over 7 years since we last visited our hometown and what better way to celebrate our parents’ anniversary than for them to be surrounded by the entire family. The date selected and the estimated price of the entire trip includes everyone’s budget and busy schedules.
I hope that you find this report useful in my plans to celebrate our parents’ anniversary. If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make changes as needed.

Sincerely yours,

Lynnette Ramirez

Abstract
Planning a vacation with a large group of people can be a bit frustrating due to the fact that everyone’s needs must be met. This report includes an all-inclusive package that will be beneficial to everyone going on the trip. It will show a comparison between using Expedia and BookIt.com. Through these websites, it will determine which the best one to use is. The research was conducted from the big upcoming event in which our parents’ will be celebrating their 25th anniversary. The research was conducted from a personal interview from both parents, and a survey amongst the rest of the family members going on the trip. The results showed everyone wanting to go to our hometown, the Dominican Republic. The data in the report suggests we use Bookit.com to book our flight and hotel. Bookit.com showed the more reasonable price and included everything everyone needed.

Introduction

Background This upcoming summer my parents’ will be celebrating 25 years of marriage. As a gift to them, I would like to propose a family trip to our wonderful island of the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is one of the Caribbean’s most popular and affordable vacation spots (Fox). The Dominican Republic was originally inhabited by Taino Indians and in 1492 was discovered by Christopher Columbus, who named the island Hispaniola (Fox). Today you will find European, African, Latin and Taino influences in the country’s art, music, gastronomy, recreation and religion (Fox). Modern amenities, pulsing nightlife and casinos, and a growing influx of luxury resorts add to the island’s appeal.

Problem Traveling to the Dominican Republic is not the type of trip where one can just pick up their bags and go. A trip this extravagant and luxurious takes careful planning and lots of money. Not only is this trip just for my parents’, but the entire family is planning on joining. This is where the problem arises. Planning a family vacation as big as this one takes patience, and lots of it (“Family Vacation…”). Another major issue is meeting everyone’s budget and planning the date around their busy schedules.

Purpose The purpose of this report is to plan and organize our family vacation to the Dominican Republic in which we will be celebrating our parents’ 25th anniversary. This report will show which all- inclusive package is beneficial for the entire family. The research and findings in this report should give everyone a general idea of the estimated price everything will cost and the foregoing steps required to ensure our parents’ enjoy such an important milestone in their lives.

Scope The scope and research of this report was intended only for the family members who are interested in going on the trip. Based on the survey I conducted between our family, there will only be a total of five adults and 2 minor children (Student).
Discussion
Background for Study The family vacation to the Dominican Republic was put together for the celebration of our parents’ 25th anniversary. The background for this study was conducted first by conducting an interview between my parents’ to get an idea on what they wanted to do for their anniversary and then a survey between the family members to get an idea on what they would enjoy doing on our next family vacation. Researching through various websites helped in putting together a complete package that was beneficial to everyone.

Problem/Hypothesis The problem was finding an all- inclusive package that met everyone’s budget. Planning a family vacation this big needed careful planning and ensures that the package selected included everyone’s needs and requirements. First, I conducted an interview between our parents’ to get an idea on how they wanted to celebrate their anniversary on September 20, 2011. Then, I conducted a survey between the family members going on the trip to get an idea on what they would like to do if going on a family vacation, which was conducted on September 25, 2011. Research Results and Analysis As shown in figure: 1, the selected dates are March 31, 2011- April 14, 2011.
Figure: 1 Vacation Days

There were two different websites used to compare which all- inclusive package was the best fit for the family. The first package, built through Expedia.com, was an “ok” price. The total price, including hotel, flight and few activities, is $1306.22 avg/person (“Create your Trip…”). Included in the all- inclusive package is a roundtrip flight to and from the Dominican Republic, a 14-night stay in the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino, located on Santo Domingo’s grand waterfront boulevard and a cruise to explore the natural pool and take a dive with the dolphins (“Create your trip...”). Figure: 2 below shows a picture of the hotel.

Figure: 2 Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino Source: “Dominican Republic..”

The other website used, was Bookit.com. The total price including hotel, flight, breakfast, and activities, is $1175.00 avg/person. Included in this package is a roundtrip flight to and from the Dominican Republic, a 14-night stay at the Barceló Santo Domingo Hotel, also located near the waterfront boulevard, breakfast every morning and a day out on the beach to swim with dolphins, and go snorkeling. Figure: 3 below, shows a picture of the hotel.

Figure: 3 Barceló Santo Domingo Hotels

Source: “Barceló Santo Domingo..”

Both hotels were completely gorgeous but according to the numbers in figure: 4, the most reasonable package was the one built through book it.com. The price, and everything included exceeded the requirements of the family members and saved everyone about $131.
Figure: 4 Expedia vs. BookIt Source: (“Barceló Santo Domingo…Bookit”)

Conclusions
The research and analysis clearly demonstrate that booking everything through bookit.com, is the most beneficial package for everyone. From the hotel, to the activities that are available for us to do, this all- inclusive package over exceeds the estimated budget. Of course, the main purpose of this trip is to celebrate our parents’ 25th anniversary. At the moment I am un- able to give any information on what exactly is going to happen that day but, I am keeping in contact with family members in Dominican Republic who are planning a huge party to celebrate their day. I will get back at you with more details on specifics of the big day, but for now this is the estimated price of the major part of the trip.

...and Wanda had been married for many years. Each weekday Hal, who worked for a data processing firm, left for work at 8am and returned home after 6pm. Wanda worked from their home as a telemarketer. As their 20th wedding anniversary approached, Hal decided to prepare a romantic surprise for Wanda. On the day of their anniversary Hal left work at 1pm and drove to the local florist where he purchased a dozen long stem roses. He then drove home intending to surprise Wanda with the flowers and spend the entire afternoon alone with her. When Hal arrived at his home he looked in the window of the office Wanda used to do her telemarketing calls and observed Wanda in what he believed to be a passionate embrace with his neighbor, Norm. Hal, an overly jealous man, had long suspected that Norm harbored desires for his wife. Believing that Wanda and Norm had just engaged in sexual relations, he flew into a rage, ran to the garage and retrieved a revolver he kept in a locked box. He then opened a safe located in the garage in which he stored bullets, removed 6 bullets and loaded the revolver. He then ran back to the front of the house just as Norm was leaving. Hal shot Norm, killing him instantly. In actuality Norm had dropped by Hal's and Wanda's home to drop off an anniversary gift for the two of them and Wanda was giving Norm a hug to thank him when Hal had looked through the window. Hearing the shot Wanda ran from the house and screamed, “Hal, what have you done?” Startled, Hal dropped the...

Human Behavior in Durang's Wanda's Visit

...being free from the old ball and chain. Christopher Durang depicts how humans are an unhappy species through Jim, Marsha, and Wanda in the play “Wanda’s Visit,” along with showing a variety of other emotions humans are capable of possessing. Durang compares two different lifestyles, both leading to a not quite so happy ending. Jim and Marsha are a middle aged, attractive couple that has been together for 13 years. They have reached a point in life where they have seemingly reached a plateau and cannot climb any higher. It seems as though they are looking for something new and exciting in order to move on to this next level in their relationship. In the play it mentions that Jim tried to get drunk at their 13th wedding anniversary in order to spark up some new feelings, but instead ended up falling asleep early with his still bland marriage. Happiness seems to be lacking, yet the two are at this point in their life which they assumed would be the happiest they could ever be. After Wanda stirred up their relationship quite a bit and was gone, Jim and Marsha joined an aerobics class and sought out a marriage counselor to continue looking for some type of joy in their relationship. Still they wished they could find happiness. Scatter brained Wanda winds up coming to town to visit her old high school fling, Jim. After arriving, Jim soon finds that Wanda as well, is not happy in her own life. Wanda led a life of promiscuity and self loathing after...

March 9th

...Last year on my 22nd birthday I got the best surprise in one of my favorite cities San Francisco, California. It all started with waking up to Taylor Swift’s song “I’m feeling 22” and happily dancing and singing along to the music. The weekend was already special because my younger sister was visiting from the Bay area and my Grandmother and Grandfather were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. My sister Sarah, my longtime boyfriend TJ and I started off our Sunday adventure around 7 o’clock in the morning, right after we got Starbucks of course. We were making our way from Antelope, which is in the Greater Sacramento area, to San Francisco to enjoy a day of adventuring. The journey there was full of laughter and music, along with site seeing all the beautiful scenery around. I am a frequent visitor to the City so we decided to go to the beach where we always do, right off of Ocean Beach by the Cliff House restaurant. Like we had done many times before we hiked down the cliff and walked around the old building foundations. The old structure filled with water so we walk on the cement beams around and across careful not to fall in the water with all the seagulls and seaweed. So that part is always fun and almost dangerous at the same time! We finally make our way across after helping one another on the more difficult spots but still having a great time. The next part of our journey was to a cave that ended at the ocean with rocks and waves. In the middle of the cave there...

...just add up to the pain? Just like what other say “time will heal the pain” but isn’t the meantime turning out the mean time? Break-ups are really disillusionment and a good cry simply can’t allocate the pain and surely, morphine won’t help. And though it can make you numb, even liquors can’t drown your sorrows. But whether you did the break-up or you are the one who gets’ busted, there are ways to make your situation somewhat easier to bear so you can move on. One thing is to never fantasize about your getting back together, remember that assuming and expecting is the root of all heartaches. The first and hardest part of moving on is to dispose everything that reminds you of your ex: pictures, favourite music together, monthsary or anniversary gifts, couple shirts, letters, everything! And cutting all the lines of communication as well as blocking him/her on your facebook. Never mind if he/ she will feel you’re bitter because this is the fastest way of moving on. Next is to make yourself busy. Instead of locking yourself up in your room, spend time doing necessary things like working, sporting, exercise/jog and bonding with friends. Another good option is going into a holiday trip with your family or friends. A change of location will also do you some good. If you bore yourself it may lead you once again, to fantasizing, and surely you don’t want that to take place. Once you’re okay, that’s the time you find another new one. Be vigilant though, you are not on a rush. Some...
