The anoxic encephalopathy is one of the post-operative complications that could be related due to anesthesia administration. The result of this complication is a lack of oxygen in the brain tissue. Although it takes less than 4 minutes to have a brain damage due to lack of oxygen, this occurs when the patient is away from the hospital care like home. Such thing should not happen while a patient is under the care of the healthcare professional. One of the first problems that could be noted, there was a lack of patient assessment, and that was the reason the patient Juan’s caregiver did not catch any sign and symptom of anoxic encephalopathy.
