Apple was started in 1976 by a young entrepreneur, Steven Jobs, and his partner, computer nerd Stephen Wozniak. They began by making personal computers (PCs) in a garage. In 1983 the company’s turnover, from essentially one model – the distinctive Apple computer - was approaching $1 billion.
