Most people in the United States have a way to connect with people online or through an app. There are 1,000’s of ways and different apps that allow you to connect. So the real question is what is the best? I think that Snapchat is the best social media app because it is easy to use , connects users with all different types of people across the world, and it allows users to share those picture perfect moments right as they are to experience them. Click, capture, and send, how much easier could it be to connect with a person? Snapchat is the best social media app out there because it is user friendly. At the click of a button a users photo will go out into the world, however once the receiver opens the photo it will only appear on the screen for up to 10 seconds. According to the Business Insider snapchat was ranked the third most popular social media app in the world. As of July 2014 over half of the users were between the age of 13 to 17 years old. As I am writing this paper I am checking my “snaps” as they come in. I am sharing with my friends what I am doing right now. Snapchat is a very quick way of sharing what is going on in the moment. Snapchat also shows big events that a user can view or add to if they are in the area in which the event is happening. For example for Martin Luther King Jr. Day snapchat put an “I have a dream” stories for viewers to view. Users may say well why not Instagram? To me Instagram takes more time and is not as convenient even though a picture will last forever where as on snapchat it only appears for 10 seconds.
