Argumentative Essay: Should People Go To College?

Submitted By
Words 287
Pages 2
The problem is that people are attending college with the only mentality that they are going to make a lot of money once they graduate or that they are going to have their dream job and home. Many people who choose to delay college end up dropping out because they forget how to do basic math, or don’t know how to write a paper, or find that simply having the right attitude is hard because they have been out of school for too long.
People need to understand that just because someone attends college that does not guarantee anything for them, except maybe being in debt for a long time. The mentality people should have when thinking about going to college is that they are going to keep expanding their knowledge on something they love, and will

A List of Good Argumentative Essay Topics About Health for College Students

... most people are extremely concerned about their health and ways to keep fit. You can tell by seeing how people act; they go the gym all the time, they eat less food and they might even take diet supplements to maintain a ‘healthy’ body. However, is that really what health is all about? Are people under some sort of misconception? When you are writing an argumentative essay in college, you should think of different topics related to health. It might be difficult to come up with some great topics, but here are a few to get you started: Should people take diet supplements as part of their diet? Diet supplements are supposed to be natural, but many manufacturers add artificial ingredients in it to enhance the effects of weight loss. However, this comes at the cost of the person’s health. Indeed, the person will lose more weight for sure, but his health will also deteriorate due to the ingredients. Do you think this is ethical? Should this be illegal? You have plenty of things to talk about in your essay! Is gym hurting or helping our body? People go to the gym all the time nowadays. Not that it’s bad, but are the effects really that useful? It is true that you are burning off more calories but that comes at the expense of your physical body as well. Your body is not meant to be working so hard and sooner or later, it will wear down. That’s going to take a toll on your body and it might not be ideal. What are your views? Express them in your essay. Should people stop taking...

...Argumentative Essay on Dating September 28, 2011 by jmssilverstone · No Comments · Argumentative Essay Samples In the men’s world today, a lot of the husbands still think making money is their responsibility, while housekeeping, cooking, and taking care of the children are the responsibilities of their wives, regardless if they have daily jobs or not. Therefore, women are doing a lot of extra works and accumulating a lot of stress, while the men are relaxing with beers and chips watching television. But now days some husbands are doing all the works at home, in exchange for respect and obedience from their wives when they are outside with friends. The perception of how men and women see each other from now and before time has changed drastically. Even the aspect of the dating point of view has changed. Men are out for either lust or love and usually do not mix them up. When a man is out for lust, all that he really desires from her is sex. He does not take her seriously and does not have intentions of ending up with her. He basically is just in it for fun. When a man is out for love, he will wait much longer because he desires more than just sex. He desires her. Then, one of the things a man prefers is purity. The reason why a man prefers purity is because he does have or could have feelings for her. When a man is in love with a woman and she has never been with another man, it will make him feel good. But when a man is in love with a woman and she has been with other men,...

Argumentative Essay On Education

...Argumentative Essay Hey Guys, today I will explain why every single human being should have the same individual rights rather they have education or not. Do you want to live in a world where people are suppressed by their way of life and having less right by who lives differently? Well I don't think so, I think that even though some people don't afford to go to school or go to college they should not have less rights than who can. I think that this is by far a violation of human rights and the declaration of independence and is a form of abuse to the people. Clearly in our minds we people instantly think that every human being should be able to be equal, well most people don't take that seriously. People...

Online Education

...Argumentative essay on the benefits of online education Do you know online education? Online education is one of the way to learn various subjects. We can take a lecture or hand in our assignments through the Internet. Therefore, people can learn what they want to learn whenever or wherever they want. In America, some colleges adopt this education. However, this new way to educate students is not prevailed in all countries because in some countries, they have enough educational system for students. Although some countries have enough colleges or educational system, the online education should be a part of educational system in all colleges for three reasons: cost, study environment, flexibility and student centered. First, online education can give a good influence in educational cost. To be sure, some people have enough money to go to college and online education is not necessary because there are many professors who teaches various kinds of subjects and we can ask directly what we want to know without paying money. However, when we think about the poor people with some problems, we can understand the thought that online education should be a part of educational system. For example in Japan, according to the research by Tokyo university, about ten thousand students retired from their colleges for lacks of money every year. To help such students solve their money troubles, if the online education is used by all colleges, we don’t need to pay for textbooks, facilities or transportation...

Premarital Sex Premarital Sex and Religion The Catholic Church teaches that premarital sex is wrong, yet it is still widely practiced around the world. The reason marriage was created was to join two people of the opposite sex together in a holy sacrament that would make the couple one. God's reason for marriage is quoted in the bible when he said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh" . The Sacrament of marriage is one of the most sacred Sacraments in the Catholic Religion. By performing premarital sex, the couple is breaking a covenant with God and is performing a sin. Marriage is the joining of a couple in the eyes of God and in the eyes of the State. When two people are joined into marriage they become on in flesh and...

Critical Thinking

...skills for writing an effective argumentative essay rom August 1987 until January 2007, Alan Greenspan was chairman of the Federal Reserve Board (“the Fed”). Because any remark he made about U.S. monetary policy could cause markets all over the world to fluctuate wildly, he developed a complicated way of speaking that came to be known as “Fedspeak.” Here’s an example: It is a tricky problem to find the particular calibration in timing that would be appropriate to 2/9/2016 12:17 PM 3 of 56 stem the acceleration in risk premiums created by falling incomes without prematurely aborting the decline in the inflation-generated risk premiums.* Greenspan has admitted that such remarks were not really intended to be understood. Asked to give an example by commenting on the weather, Greenspan replied, I would generally expect that today in Washington, D.C., the probability of changes in the weather is highly uncertain. But we are monitoring the data in such a manner that we will be able to update people on changes that are important.* Page 70 2/9/2016 12:17 PM This tells us nothing about the weather, of course, and was not intended to. Many times, though, we run across similarly complicated examples of speech or writing that do seem to be intended to inform us. For example, Allan Bloom, the famous American educator who authored The Closing of the American Mind, which was read (or at least purchased) by millions, wrote in that book: If openness means to “go with the flow,” it is...
