“FAMILY” by Fernando Botero
This work of art was painted in 2000 by Fernando Botero, a Colombian painter, who was known for his fat characters. What I like about this work is that it conveys calm and harmony. Also, this painting shows a regular Latin American family which attracts more to its spectators because in Botero’s paintings or sculptures you can know a country expressing with a personal style several events of the Latin society and culture. It is composed of soft and fine brush strokes to express serenity. It has primary colors such as yellow which is used for the woman’s dress, blue which is used for the chair and read which is used for the boy’s jacket., Also this painting has cold colors (sky blue giving an impression of remoteness)
