Mobile computing is growing at an extremely rapid rate and you can see it everywhere you go. You are probably doing it yourself multiple times a day and don’t even realize it. Phones, laptops, tablets, cloud storage and wireless networks that we use everyday are just a few elements of mobile computing. A survey listed by Bowles states that 26% of smartphone users makes them feel like they are being more productive than without them. (Bowles 2013) I can remember taking typing class in high school and now almost every school in America issues tablets to their students.

In order to fully discuss mobile computing we first have to properly define it. Mobile computing happens when you bring a computer and all of the necessary items you need in order to carry out a goal or job out into the world and away from wires and electrical outlets.

Portability, efficiency and productivity are in my opinion the keys to mobile computing. But what are the necessary items you need to get it done? There are several. Being able to communicate wirelessly, having the proper hardware such as your phone, laptop or tablet, and lastly are you equipped with the proper software to handle your apps and programs. Mobile computing is not only impacting adults in the business world as well as those who use it for entertainment, it’s also taking a huge leap into Schools across America. According to Edsuge.com as of May 1st 2013 Apple has sold over 4.5 million iPads to schools in the U.S. Also iTunes U, an app for teachers and students, now has over a billion downloads. That is more than three times the amount listed in 2010. Rival Google announced in February that its Chrome Book had been issued in more than 2,000 Schools.

Productivity and efficiency I believe work hand in...

Cooperate

...Cooperative Strategy ‘The authors have provided an ambitious overview of the cooperative strategy literature. The book will be welcomed by serious students and scholars focussed on this important phenomenon.’ Paul W. Beamish, Canada Research Chair in International Business, Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario ‘This book provides a comprehensive, well-organized and richly illustrated analysis of inter-firm cooperation. While relevant for managers and business students, it extensively draws on the most up-to-date research, making it also a valuable source for academics studying strategic alliances and the wide array of management issues they raise. Child, Faulkner, and Tallman have done a remarkable job of putting together in a highly consistent way all the knowledge available on what has become an essential facet of business development, namely Cooperative Strategy.’ Pierre Dussauge, Professor of Strategic Management, HEC – School of Management, Paris ‘I highly recommend this book for alliance scholars and practitioners. The breadth of coverage of the practical and theoretical literature on cooperative strategy is one of the book’s primary contributions. The authors demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and the numerous case studies demonstrate a close connection with actual experience.’ Andrew Inkpen, J. Preface This book is not just one of the many introductions to Human Resource Management that are published, year after year, for use in HRM classes. Authors of those introductions face many challenges, such as the need to produce something that is both theoretically sound and practically valuable, or to find a way to integrate discussions on a variety of topics into one comprehensible teaching tool. The author of this book took up those challenges by, on the one hand, closely following the conventions that HRM scholars all over the world adhere to with regards to the......
