Based on my individual scores on the “What Motivates You?” self-assessment, I can conclude that I have a high need for achievement and an equal need for both power and affiliation. My dominant need is the need for achievement. It is described as the “ drive to excel, to achieve in relation to set a set of standards, to strive to succeed” (Langton, Robbins & Judge, 2013, p.137). The high score that I received for achievement suggests that I have high standards to strive for success. I usually try very hard to improve on my past performance at work. It is also a great indication that I want to succeed in any way possible such as correcting mistakes, setting goals and challenging myself. Since I enjoy difficult challenges, it is important that I set goals that are attainable yet require lots of focus and hard work to achieve it. I also desire to know how I am progressing. When I complete a task with all my time and effort, I feel very satisfied because it takes a lot of hard work. My other scores, for needs for power and affiliation, are equally ranked because I feel “the need to make others behave in a way that they would not have behaved otherwise” and “the desire for friendly and close interpersonal relationship” (Langton, Robbins & Judge, 2013, p.137). I enjoy competition and winning but I do not usually like to be in charge. If there were any issues that arise, I would confront people who do things I disagree with and provide solutions. I do not influence other people to get my way yet I often work hard to gain more control over the events around me. Usually, I often find myself talking to those around me about non-work related matters in order to build better relationships with them. In that sense, I build close relationships with other people because I can get work done easier and feel comfortable working in my organization. I enjoy being in-group settings, which reflects the reason I like to work with others more than working alone. All of these scores generally reflect the way I feel motivated. I have a greater need for achievement because I raise my standards and set goals. My need for power and affiliation is scored high because I feel that I want control of my environment and I enjoy being around others in-group settings.

...Career Assessment One of the most popular personality tests in the world is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a psychological-assessment system based on the work of psychologist Carl Jung. The MBTI asks a person to answer a series of ‘forced-choice’ questions, where one choice identifies you as belonging to one of four paired traits. The basic test takes twenty minutes, and at the end you are presented with a precise, multi-dimensional summary of your personality. The MBTI test classifies people into types based on four opposing dimensions, Extraversion-Introversion (E-I), Sensing-Intuition (S-N), Thinking-Feeling (T-F) and Judging-Perceiving (J-P). Based on the answers to the questions on the inventory, people are identified as having one of 16 personality types. The goal of the MBTI is to allow someone the ability to further explore and understand their own personalities including their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, possible career predilections, and compatibility with other people. Taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can provide a lot of insight into your personality, which is probably why the instrument has become so enormously popular. Each opposing aspect of the MBTI test helps to explore personality a little more. The Extraversion-Introversion (E-I) helps show a preference for focusing attention on, and drawing energy from, the outside world of people and things rather than the inner world of ideas and impressions....

...Health assessment provides a foundation for improving the health of a community. Factors were noted in an assessment of Sampson County that affect the health of the population. The resultant proposal will focus on the southernmost part of the county which is more rural and has fewer resources. Delineating strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats helped to prioritize needs so that possible solutions can be generated. An emerging issue was the continued prevalence of chronic diseases despite the existence of health resources. Unfortunately, preventable aspects of the diseases cannot be addressed if individuals are unable to access services. Some citizens may access services but be unable to follow up. Access and transportation continue to present a formidable challenge to health promotion and disease prevention. Also a need for education regarding health promotion, healthy lifestyle choices, exercise and health screening was noted. Limited health literacy and low educational levels present barriers to successfully providing interventions. A need for more funding to provide strategies that address health disparities was apparent. For example, funds are needed to expand Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Programs and outreach for parent education. Other issues such as affordable housing and lack of adequate mental health service were noted. Substandard housing presents significant risks to adults and children....

...Jun Hui Professor Joan Young RPA 304 – Advanced Real Property Assessment I 14 Oct 2015 Writing assignment 1 Since Mrs. White has the concern about the fairness of two tax system, it is necessary to explain the general differences between them first. The proposition 13 and ad valorem are two different property systems on purpose of imposing property tax. An ad valorem tax (Latin for "according to value") is the property tax which amount is a percentage of the property market value. It has been widely used by majority of counties. The Proposition 13 was raised in California 1978, it changed from the ad valorem system based on market value to it based on legality. It has several important features: ➢ All real property values were rolled back to their 1975 level. ➢ Proposition 13 stipulates that real property must be reappraised at its full market value only when it is sold. ➢ The values of properties not sold during the year are adjusted for inflation. Inflation is limited to the California Consumer Price Index. There is a limit of 2% on assessment increases but there is no limitation on decrease. ➢ All real property newly built is valued at market value once construction is finished. ➢ Proposition 13 effectively reduced the tax rate on property from about 2.65% statewide to a maximum of 1% of taxable value, plus an amount necessary to retire existing voter-approved debts....

...Health Assessment Health assessment is an essential nursing function which provides foundation for quality nursing care and intervention. It helps to identify the strengths of the clients in promoting health. Health assessment also helps to identify client’s needs, clinical problems or nursing diagnoses and to evaluate responses of the person to health problems and intervention (Fuller & Schaller-Ayers, 2000). An accurate and thorough health assessment reflects the knowledge and skills of a professional nurse. Definition Health assessment is a systematic, deliberative and interactive process by which nurses use critical thinking to collect, validate, analyze and synthesize the collected information in order to make judgement about the health status and life processes of individuals, families and communities. Principles In planning and performing health assessment, the nurse needs to consider the following: 1. An accurate and timely health assessment provides foundation for nursing care and intervention. 2. A comprehensive assessment incorporates information about a client’s physiologic, psychosocial, spiritual health, cultural and environmental factors as well as client’s developmental status. 3. The health assessment process should include data collection, documentation and evaluation of the client’s health status and responses to health problems and intervention. 4....
