A person’s ability to access health services has a profound effect on every aspect of his or her health, yet at the start of the decade, almost 1 in 4 Americans do not have a primary care provider (PCP) or health center where they can receive regular medical services. Approximately 1 in 5 Americans (children and adults under age 65) do not have medical insurance. People without medical insurance are more likely to lack a usual source of medical care, such as a PCP, and are more likely to skip routine medical care due to costs, increasing their risk for serious and disabling health conditions. When they do access health services, they are often burdened with large medical bills and out-of-pocket expenses.
Clinical preventive services, such as routine disease screening and scheduled immunizations, are key to reducing death and disability and improving the Nation’s health. These services both prevent and detect illnesses and diseases—from flu to cancer—in their earlier, more treatable stages, significantly reducing the risk of illness, disability, early death, and medical care costs.
Motor vehicle crashes, homicide, domestic and school violence, child abuse and neglect, suicide, and unintentional drug overdoses are important public health concerns in the United States. In addition to their immediate health impact, the effects of injuries and violence extend well beyond the injured person or victim of violence, affecting family members, friends, coworkers, employers, and communities. Witnessing or being a victim of violence is linked to lifelong negative physical, emotional, and social consequences

...Assessment is a valuable tool to measure students learning and achievement. It is an essential element for teacher to reflect on what and how they teach. To assess students is to collect evidence of their learning. Teachers use the information to modify their lesson plans and adjust their instructional methods; students need feedback on their performance to concentrate on their vulnerable areas. Assessment is necessary for parents to reinforce their children strength and assist them where extra attention is required. The data collected will inform school administration the parts of improvement that both teachers and students needed and for the state and federal levels, as is important to determine if additional funding is necessary to assist students in their learning and achievement. To provide the suitable service and achieve optimal result, teachers and administrators must identify their ELL students and place them in classroom that best fit with their abilities. She added, there are two types of ELLs, the new enrollments, which are kindergartens who enroll in school for the first time or students of higher grade levels who transferred......

...Career Assessment One of the most popular personality tests in the world is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a psychological-assessment system based on the work of psychologist Carl Jung. The MBTI asks a person to answer a series of ‘forced-choice’ questions, where one choice identifies you as belonging to one of four paired traits. The basic test takes twenty minutes, and at the end you are presented with a precise, multi-dimensional summary of your personality. The MBTI test classifies people into types based on four opposing dimensions, Extraversion-Introversion (E-I), Sensing-Intuition (S-N), Thinking-Feeling (T-F) and Judging-Perceiving (J-P). Based on the answers to the questions on the inventory, people are identified as having one of 16 personality types. The goal of the MBTI is to allow someone the ability to further explore and understand their own personalities including their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, possible career predilections, and compatibility with other people. Taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can provide a lot of insight into your personality, which is probably why the instrument has become so enormously popular. Each opposing aspect of the MBTI test helps to explore personality a little more. The Extraversion-Introversion (E-I) helps show a preference for focusing attention on, and drawing energy from, the outside world of people and things rather than the inner world of ideas and impressions. Sensing-Intuition......

...Health assessment provides a foundation for improving the health of a community. Factors were noted in an assessment of Sampson County that affect the health of the population. The resultant proposal will focus on the southernmost part of the county which is more rural and has fewer resources. Delineating strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats helped to prioritize needs so that possible solutions can be generated. An emerging issue was the continued prevalence of chronic diseases despite the existence of health resources. Unfortunately, preventable aspects of the diseases cannot be addressed if individuals are unable to access services. Some citizens may access services but be unable to follow up. Access and transportation continue to present a formidable challenge to health promotion and disease prevention. Also a need for education regarding health promotion, healthy lifestyle choices, exercise and health screening was noted. Limited health literacy and low educational levels present barriers to successfully providing interventions. A need for more funding to provide strategies that address health disparities was apparent. For example, funds are needed to expand Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Programs and outreach for parent education. Other issues such as affordable housing and lack of adequate mental health service were noted. Substandard housing presents significant risks to adults and children. Strategies should be formulated which use......
