Discussion Questions When I think of a “participative” management style, I think of a style that is more group oriented than individual oriented. This would mean that countries that are more feminine and collective would be more accepting of this management style. From the country scores and rankings, Costa Rica, Sweden and Peru have scores that are in favor of being a more feminine country. Countries with a company policy of financially rewarding individuals based on their performance would be effective in countries like, the United States, Australia, and Sweden. A policy like this would be effective because these are scored highly in the individualism ranking. This ranking means that the society norm is to take care of one's self and one's immediate family only. Countries that managers would be expected to give precise directions to their employee's would be countries with a high power distance score. The higher the score the more that country has a society norm where there are very clear hierarchy levels in organizations and even in home. Countries like this would be Japan, Peru, and Mexico.
