At the Heart of a Company’s Strategy Is a Mission Statement

Metro Brokers is a real estate brokerage firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Their mission statement states, “Metro Brokers is committed to providing the finest full-service real estate brokerage by employing the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.” To break that down, the “what” they are trying to accomplish is to be the “finest full-service real estate brokerage.” The main way they are attempting to achieve this is “by employing the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.” That is a bold statement that I expect would have specific, significant plans laid out as to specifically how they do this. It’s easy to make a great-sounding mission statement. If I was a potential customer, I would want to see the proof of their claims.

Metro Brokers’ first claim is that they are “providing the finest full-service real estate brokerage.” This is backed up on their website. One way is that they have a monthly “Super Sunday” where their agents coordinate their open houses on the same day. Not only is this a helpful and convenient way for customers to see many homes for sale on the same day, the company adds fun and excitement in a unique way by giving away $1,000 to someone who has attended an open house. Everyone who attends is entered into the monthly drawing for the prize money. Another way the website supports their claim to have the best service is that they have the only website in Atlanta that lists every home for sale in Metro Atlanta listed.

The second part of the mission statement states that they employ “the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.” One support for this is found in the “Agent Testimonials” section. There are testimonies by current employees explaining why they chose to work for Metro Brokers. Matt Eberz touts the professionalism of the company by discussing the use of technology in a cutting-edge way that is unique to Metro Brokers. Robin O’Neal chose to work for the company because of the high quality of training as well as the availability of more seasoned co-workers to give her advice when needed. Darren Davis said, “I chose…Metro Brokers initially because I was impressed by the organization’s professionalism.” While they didn’t provide scientific data about being the best in the nation in terms of professionalism, being well-trained, and being ethical, the testimonies of current employees as to why they wanted to work for Metro Brokers and how pleased they are with their choice supports the company’s claim.

The “Company News” section lists recent happenings and success stories. One post from 2014 tells about how three Metro Brokers’ agents were elected as presidents to their local Board of Realtors chapter. This tells me that the company has a high caliber of employees who are good leaders. Another story tells of agent Evangeline Carr and how her professionalism and training served a client well. She had an out-of-town client who couldn’t travel to Atlanta to look at homes because she was thousands of miles away in the military. Evangeline went above and beyond by going to the homes herself and walked through with her client watching via Facetime.

If I was looking for a real estate agent and company to do business with in the Atlanta area, I would definitely use Metro Brokers. There are many more examples, stories, and testimonials on their website, but they all paint a similar picture. They communicate to me that this is a top-notch company. They know what they’re doing, do it well, and get the job done for their clients. They are doing so well that they added 2000 agents since 1996, according to the “A Little History” section on their website https://www.metrobrokers.com. They think creatively and support each other as well as their clients. According to all the examples on their website, Metro Brokers does “[provide] the finest full-service real estate brokerage by employing the most professional, well-trained, and ethical real estate practitioners in the nation.”
