The Branch was ordering gun parts after gun parts. There were calls to the ATF about seeing gun powder in boxes being shipped to the Davidian’s compound. The ATF had a warrant to search the compound. When they arrived there the Davidians were prepared for the attack. Somehow the word of the ATF coming got out. It was believed Koresh’s brother in law was at a postal office and overheard the news and told Koresh. They were fully prepared for what lied ahead of them. They drew all the men to believe that they were to give their wives and daughters to them as their own. There was believed to be many rapes and sexual abuse going in the compound. In fact the youngest bride of Koresh was Jewell she was only ten years old. She later testified against Koresh saying he molested her but at the time this did not bother her because she was taught at a young age that it was a good thing. There were children also being abused up to eight months old. The children would be disciplined with the wooden paddle known as “the helper”. Even if the children spilt milk they would be beaten. Koresh manipulated people so much that a woman beat her child until it bled. When Janet Reno found out about this from a victim of the rapes and abuse, she sent in ATF to put in tear gas and to order the children out of there and there would be no guns involved but then a fire erupted and many people died. Many died from skull fractures and some children and women were killed on purpose which many believe were mercy kills. A child who was three years old was stabbed in the chest before it could even have a chance to escape. Some others in the Waco incident died from poisoning. 78 people died in the fire and nine lived but were put on trial and were put in jail for forty years.
