Back on Track
My brother is 16 years old, which makes him one year younger than me. He has always been a bit of a bully, but I’ve never thought, that it would come this far. It all started about one year ago, when my mom, dad, little brother and I moved to a new town. Me and my brother started at the same school, and my brother had a hard time, at start. He was a bit overweight, so he had problems with making friend. But a long last he met a group of boys, there was just one problem. They were bad company to him. They stole, they smoked (in my family, smoking is banned) and they hated the school. My brother became unfortunately one of them, and started to be like them. He started to steal and smoke and he didn’t care about the school anymore. My parents knew about it, and they had told ham to keep away from those boys, but he didn’t care. My parents decided to find another school, so they moved him to a secondary school, men he met a lot worse guys and they were doing drugs. My brother started talking to them, and after a pair of month, he got very close to them. They started to offer him drugs, and the first couple of times he would do it. But they pushed him to do it, and me and my family’s worst nightmare, started. My brother got turned into a sort of a monster. He started to skip classes, and because of that, he got kicked out of the school. After that he didn’t do anything in a long time, and when he finally was awake, he was yelling at me, my mom and my dad. It was so horrible, and our family got more separated. In three month my family and I had lived like this, and I decided to do something about it. I didn’t know how to help him, and every night when I lay in my bed, I thought of a way to help him. One day I suddenly knew how to help him. He wouldn’t help him if our parent told him what to do, because I wouldn’t listen to them. So I found a way, who could

...one of the pass gates. I advised dispatch there was up to possibly 8 people in the South field area. At 0319 hours we advised dispatch we would be stepping up to the field to get a view of where the people are located. Officer Tener #147 and I went through a tunnel leading up to the stands to see the field. When we got to the stands we noticed a total of 5 people walking on the East side of the track. I went back into the concourse area and went north to make sure if they ran that area would be covered. Officer Tener #147 advised he was going across the field and the people were going into the East concourse area. I then went into the stands and went over the fence down to the track and field...

Wiz Khalifa Thesis

...collection. This 13 song collection that he put together in, "Khalifa," shows once again that Wiz is planning on staying authentic and is going back to what made him one of the most respected hip-hop icons in the game. As expected, with this album Khalifa didn't shy away from any, "stoner," references. But, what you also get from this album is album quality, and motivational anthems as well. After listening to the album entirely, it was just one of those, "feel-good," albums. An album that will provide you with a motivated frame of mind and helps you get the day with a positive attitude. In the opening track, "BTS," Khalifa address any...

From Failure To Promise Book Report

...The novel From Failure to Promise-360 Degrees was very inspiring, not only because it illustrated a story of faith and triumph, but also because it is strikingly similar to my own experiences. Like Dr. Moorer, I viewed my first attempt at attending university as my greatest failure. I dropped out of college after I discovered that the university was not suitable to my expectations or beliefs. Returning home to attend community college was the most difficult decision of my life, and before reading this book, I was ashamed to talk about my past. However, Dr. Moorer's story prompted me to reflect on the various tracks of my journey and to realize that my detour was actually a blessing in disguise. One of the tracks of the book that reiterated the most important life lessons to me was the off track. I identified with Dr. Moorer's off track journey because when I returned home to attend community college, I also experienced feelings of doubt, shame, and uncertainty. Junior college was never a part of my plan; however, I now realize...

If someone who can’t eat independently used a dish without the back food might fall off. 2. Describe how the object might be used and for what types of disabilities. That is, what action does the object afford a user that a regular object or surface would not afford someone with a certain disability? Moveable Step: The step can be used for the elderly who do not have as much flexibility and are not as stable on their feet. It aids them in their range of motion by acting as a halfway point and a shorter distance over a step. Vertical Tracks: This can aid elderly people as well as people who may have suffered a stroke. This can also aid people with limited motor control. It helps them to get a stronger grip on the jar so they can open it. Round Scoop Dish: This design can help people, who may have lost an arm or have limited motor control, eat more independently. The tall back of the dish prevents food from spilling. Objects 1. Fantasia

...have elapse since Fantasia Barrino released a new album. “Back To Me” is her third album, and I must say this album is a hit. This album went back to what’s missing in the R&B world such as great melody, meaningful lyrics, and soulful singing. The first single, “Bittersweet” is talking about being in love with someone can be pleasant, but then it can be sour. “You know sometimes you have to put yourself first” are the first words you hear when you listen to this album. “I’m Doing Me” is the second single off the album that has raised to the No. 16 spot on Billboards’ R&B/Hip-Hop chart. This album has 12 tracks that you can take pleasure in listening to. It’s not following the music trend that a pretty face and a nice body will sell your album. Fantasia is a beautiful person inside and out, but her realness and angelic voice should be enough to sell this album. Fantasia has proven herself on this album by singing songs that we all have heard before. You can feel that her heart is in every track on this album. She is in the league with the other R&B divas such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, India Arie, Jill Scott, and Joss Stone. Fantasia recruited some of the hit makers to work with her on this album. Claude Kelly, Rico Love, Cee-lo Green, and Ne-Yo who wrote Beyonce’s hit, “To The Left,” another all time ladies anthem. “Man Of The House,” “I’m Here” and “Who’s Been Loving You” are not my favorite tracks. Other R&B female artists have sung about their independence...

Bear Hunters Research Paper

...Bear Hunters Become the New Back Road Traffic If you’ve spent any amount of time on the back roads of Northern Lower Michigan this summer, chances are you’ve seen pickup trucks flying by with dog boxes on the back of them. Sometimes the trucks are just sitting idle on the side of a country road; sometimes they’re parked on a remote two-track. You may have seen the drivers and passengers of the trucks hop out with leashes latched around their shoulders, talking into a two-way radio. No, these aren’t mobile dog kennels. They’re not animal control either. They’re bear hunters who are taking their time this summer to train their hounds to run black bear in preparation for the coming kill season. They are the new back road traffic. It’s important for houndsmen to whip their dogs into shape before the season starts. This is done by putting the dogs on a hot trail during the training season. A day of training generally starts before the sun rises over the forest. Hunters...

Pm592 Course Project 1

...PM 592 Project Cost and Schedule Control Executive Summary After reviewing the project costs, schedules, and earned values I have realized that there are some concerns with the schedule and costs. I have found that there are some tasks that have put the project behind schedule and over budget. After reviewing the project closely and making the adjustments by requesting and adding additional percentage for resources to the builder, plumber, electrician, hvac, and the ferris wheel supplier it will bring the project back on track and under budget. Which if you review the revised schedule you will find that the new schedule will still allow the theme park to open on time and within budget. Schedule 1 [pic] Performance Analysis Based on the Earned Value Management I have found that there are a couple stages behind schedule and once complete will end up over budget. Phase 1.5 Joists and Roof Deck is currently at 76% completion and is behind schedule, according to the charts once this is complete will end up finishing late and over budget. The responsibility of this task is on the Builder. Phase 1.7 Rough Carpentry is currently at 65% completion and also is behind schedule, this phase also will end up finishing late and over budget. Once again this task responsibility is on the Builder. Phase 1.11 Elevator is currently at 76% completion and also is behind schedule, this phase also will end up finishing late and over budget. Once again this task responsibility is on...

Bob Dylan Paper

...artwork is a phenomenal mix of instruments and vocals to produce a sound that is of no other. Dylan combines everything from a simple harmonica (which he makes sound anything but simple) all the way up to electric guitars, drums, acoustics, tambourines, banjos and even what sounds to be like a Kazoo in track 7! His background falls under influences coming from the blues with an emphasis on delta blues, and a strong country back ground as well. He ties these older sounds together with the new sounds of today’s rock and roll to create even flowing and cohesive piece of work. His music is made for the youth and even in a time when folk and country music is something we would relate to our parents, his music brings out a young vibrantness that no person, old or young, could ignore. His overall CD encompasses many mixed emotions. Dylan seems to incorporate personal stories of his own life along with random stories which when combined produce songs of happiness as well as desperation to the modern world. His CD doesn’t carry a main story line, and in fact really sounds like a mix of random feelings and emotions that he kind of slapped together into one cohesive motion. His first track “Like a rolling stone” pulls the listener in with an instant hook made up of an arsenal of sound which includes electric guitar, drums, tambourine, and an organ. It sways the listener into an almost uncontrollable state of happiness and could only produce nothing but a gigantic smile on ones face. His...

Music, Poetry, Passion..

...been a long time coming. This being the seventh studio album may be her most personal to date, encompassing inspiration from the birth of her twins and her own experiences with love. The highlighted theme throughout the album courses the examination, questioning and discovery of the diverse sides and avenues of love and relationships. It's been a long and twisty road for Love?, having started recording the album in 2009 with an original release date for the project set for January 2010 to coincide with Lopez’s latest film “The Back-up Plan”. However following the lack of success with lead single Louboutins, Lopez and Sony Music Entertainment decided to end their ten year partnership leaving the fate of Love? with Island Def Jam, which boasts an impressive roster of A-list songwriters and producers (such as RedOne and Lady Gaga), as well as guest performers. Here’s a track-by-track rundown: 1. On the Floor (Ft. Pitbull) This moderately-catchy track, aimed for the dance floor, became J.Lo’s first Top 10 hit in eight years. It’s one of the album’s strongest singles, having a bit of a capricious vibe, containing a sample of Los Kjarkas’ song Llorando Se Fue, which was made popular in the Kaoma single Lambada. Lyrically, it follows the typical ‘get down and boogie’ formula but sound wise, it’s unlike anything on the radio, definitely putting it ahead of the game and screams summer. 2. Good Hit Lopez pointlessly cuddles with auto-tune for this near-rap song in which she repetitively...

Cocktail Hour Number One Analysis

...Tequila” by Alanis Morissette. This song is off of Morissette’s album Flavors of Entanglement as a bonus track. It differs greatly from the angst-ridden, guitar-shredding tracks of her past. Rather, the persistent beat and varying degrees of electronic notes add a bubbly, fun-loving vibe to the entire song. What makes the song perfect for a casual reception’s cocktail hour is the chorus: “Bring on the tequila / haaaa, ohhhhh / on fire on tequila / haaaa / host is most on tequila / haaaa, ohhhh / bestest friends on tequila”. Cocktail Hour, Number Two: “Cracklin’ Rosie” by Neil Diamond. A party is not a party unless you include a Neil Diamond track. It’s a rule I’ve lived by most of my life. There is nothing quite like seeing guests unconsciously bob their heads or sing along with his epic and well-known lyrics. Even more, this track is an anthem to wine. There is no better way to spend an hour drinking than listening to Neil Diamond sing in his rich baritone. To steal from the master, himself: “Play it now / play it now / play it now / my baby, Cracklin’ Rosie’ll make me...

Sectionals: A Short Story

...(keep your right foot planted and snap your wrist). I shook my head quickly nodding to the keys. One chance I thought to myself. I did one slow warm pump with my arm. Slowly bringing my arm back and then forward across my mid-section. I took one deep breath and cleared my cloudy mind. The rain drizzled down as I could see my mom out of the corner of my eye; she was anxious for me to throw. I swung my left foot back, turning and then my right. Then I dipped down low and flung the disc into the air, watching it for only seconds. I heard gasps and then shut my eyes tight. Just moments after throwing the shot-put, a tear struck my cheek as they call my name out for third place. Today I am competing in the 2015 Sectional Track meet in Effingham Illinois. Even though, I still qualified for state, third place burned my heart. I had one more event left, one more chance to win at Sectionals. Before throwing the discus, which was my final event, I took two deep breaths and calmed myself down. I walked over to the discus...

Sprinting Technique

...shouldn’t occur. High heels at the back is a sign of poor technique. Remember we are after front side mechanics not back side mechanics. The thigh comes up parallel to the hips before the shin begins to extend. The recovery foot steps up and over the drive knee as the foot takes the shortest path to the front of the body as the center of mass rises above the surface. The recovery is almost like a cycling motion. 1.2 High knee lift Consciously lifting the knee high while sprinting inhibits the legs natural timing during the recovery phase. This will cause a reduction in force and slower movement. The knee lift should happen quickly to horizontal. Knee of the swing leg moves forwards and upwards to continue drive and increase stride length. The swing legs knee action should occur naturally as the hip flexor goes back into normal position. 1.3 Active foot strike The forward foot should be directly under the lead knee. The foot touching the ground is making contact just in front of the body. Sprinting is a pulling ,pushing and jumping action. Sprinters run on the balls of there feet. As your lead leg lands on the ground your ankle is dorsiflexed (cocked), you claw the track beneath you and thus, pulling yourself forward but you also push on the ground as you push yourself forward. The foot strike is active and powerful and should happen quickly thigh comes down shin extends foot hits ground just infront of center of mass in a down and back motion. 1.4 Dorsiflexcion of ankle ...
