At approximately 10:42pm on Friday, October 7th, 2016, RA on-call Baibhav Bhattarai was checking out a temporary card for a resident when he heard his on-call phone ring. UTAPD was on the other end of the phone and wanted to check on a resident, Edward Young. UTAPD told Bhattarai to check on the student if he was in his room or not and in what condition he was in.
