Most of us like to try different flavor, mixed in restaurant. Belly Shack is one of the option. Belly Shack is a fusion restaurant mixed with Asian and Latin cuisine. Asian and Latin flavors are very different but I think they come together in the flavor “spicy”! This casual dine in restaurant is owned by chef Bill Kim. One of the reason why I went to this restaurant is because its a chef owned restaurant. I have heard that chef owned restaurants are always good to try because they know what the customers really wants than restaurant business owners.
This restaurant is not just owned by Chef Bill Kim, his wife Yvonne is also part of this store. The idea behind this restaurant came from Yvonne’s Korean and Puerto Rican childhood days. Belly Shack takes you to a lively journey through the foods that defined Chef Bill Kim’s and wife Yvonne’s childhoods. Chef Bill Kim started his Asian inspired cuisine in 2008. He also owns two different restaurants, Urbanbelly, and BellyQ. Bill Kim is a well experienced and skilled Chef. Belly Shack offers to host private events or parties. We can also order online and it will be delivered to home. Belly Shack’s website http://www.bellyshack.com is very creative, …show more content…
I had to wait around 5-6 min in the line. The waitress had a good eye contact and smiled and greeted us nicely. She asked “Hello, Welcome to Belly Shack, can I get your order” I ordered a belly dog which was $9, “All-Beef Hot Dog, Egg Noodles & Pickled Green Papaya; with Togarashi Fries” (www.Bellyshack.com) also I ordered tostones as a side which was $5, “Fried & Smashed Plantains with Chimichurri Sauce” (www.Bellyshack.com). The waitress also mentioned about their best seller. I paid the money and I was given a table number holder with a number on it and were asked to take the seat anywhere. I took a seat next to the windows because I wanted to see the scenery and then another waiter came and checked for our

Their Eyes Were Watching God

...(Chapter 1) One evening, Janie Crawford comes back from Eatonville, Florida. As she walks through the town, her old neighbors were sitting on their porches talking about how she had left town in nice clothing with a younger man and came back muddy and in overalls. When she walks by the neighbors, she doesn’t stop to chat with them which only causes them to talk about her more. The chapter then tells the Janie was in love with a man named Tea Cake which the women tell that she was way too old for him. Even though the ladies were jealous of Janie being with a younger man, they tried to label her as whorish, in which Janie’s best friend defended her saying she’s never done anything to her anyone and then later took her to dinner. As Janie and her friend talk, we find out that they have been friends for a long while and they trust each other. Pheoby was afraid that Tea Cake has taken all of Janie’s money and ran off with a younger woman but Janie makes it clear that he was very good to her and tell Pheoby that he was ‘gone’ but we aren’t sure exactly what that means. Characterization- Protagonist: Janie Mae Crawford- An attractive, independent, middle-aged black woman who is curious and has lots of confidence. Direct: “Youse just as crazy as you ever was (5).” -This sentence tells that Janie is still the same person she was before she left which is a good thing. Imagery- “But nobody moved,...

This is one of them. In late afternoon, in the autumn of 1989, I'm at my desk, looking at a blinking cursor on the computer screen before me, and the telephone rings. On the other end of the wire is a former Iowan named Michael Johnson. He lives in Florida now. A friend from Iowa has sent him one of my books. Michael Johnson has read it; his sister, Carolyn, has read it; and they have a story in which they think I might be interested. He is circumspect, refusing to say anything about the story, except that he and Carolyn are willing to travel to Iowa to talk with me about it. That they are prepared to make such an effort intrigues me, in spite of my skepticism about such offers. So I agree to meet with them in Des Moines the following week. At a Holiday Inn near the airport, the introductions are made, awkwardness gradually declines, and the two of them sit across from me, evening coming...

...the usual vigil beside the body, and be back here by tomorrow evening. I have fixed up with my employer for two days' leave; obviously, under the circumstances, he couldn't refuse. Still, I had an idea he looked annoyed, and I said, without thinking: “Sorry, sir, but it's not my fault, you know.” Afterwards it struck me I needn't have said that. I had no reason to excuse myself; it was up to him to express his sympathy and so forth. Probably he will do so the day after tomorrow, when he sees me in black. For the present, it's almost as if Mother weren't really dead. The funeral will bring it home to me, put an official seal on it, so to speak… I took the two-o'clock bus. It was a blazing hot afternoon. I'd lunched, as usual, at Céleste's restaurant. Everyone was most kind, and Céleste said to me, “There's no one like a mother.” When I left they came with me to the door. It was something of a rush, getting away, as at the last moment I had to call in at Emmanuel's place to borrow his black tie and mourning band. He lost his uncle a few months ago. I had to run to catch the bus. I suppose it was my hurrying like that, what with the glare off the road and from the sky, the reek of gasoline, and the jolts, that made me feel so drowsy. Anyhow, I slept most of the way. When I woke I was leaning against a soldier; he grinned and asked me if I'd come from a long way off, and I just nodded, to cut things short. I wasn't in a mood for talking. The Home is a little over a mile...
