E-mail benefits an organization by allowing employers and employees a way to communicate instantly with each other or customers without taking time out to make actual contact or phone calls. E-mails allow information like documents, graphs or other paperwork to be sent over an e-mail. Unlike before, things would have to be sent through the mail. An organization would want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours because they would want to make sure the employee is only sending e-mails pertaining to their company. According to Laudon and Laudon (2013), there have been “as many as 90 percent of employers receive or send personal e-mail at work” (p.197). This means that they are not doing company work and it is a loss in productivity. Also the company would want to make sure that no confidential information or e-mails that can jeopardize the company in any way are sent from the company computers. The e-mail path should go directly to the intended person from the sender. E-mails can be beneficial if it used correctly within a company.
Instant messaging in a company allows messages to be sent fast which allows productivity at work. The benefits of using instant messages within a company are that it allows companies and customers to communicate with fast replies. It also allows the company to send specific information that would otherwise take a week or more by mail to get to its destination. Drawbacks of using instant messaging are employees using e-mail for personal use. This can cause secure information to be able to be sent out to the wrong person or unprofessional e-mails sent that can cause lawsuits. Instant messages can have both benefits and drawbacks.
Having access to web browsing on the company computer can help employees with presentations or research they may have to do. This cutback time that is needed to finish projects. The…...

Person Email

...Should Justin Ellsworth’s Parents Have Been Given Access to His Email? Abstract The question is, “Should Justin Ellsworth’s parent been given access to his email?” There are many things to consider when asking this question. Did they have the right to see it? Did he want them to see it? How would anyone ever know what his wishes were if they never talked about this subject? Did the parents only want the email to see what he was up to, or his personal thoughts? Would there be something in the e-mail that would make them think differently of their son? Is it legal for the parents to see this email? Is this a violation of privacy and policy? These are all fair questions in an ethical battle such as this one. What kind of stance would you take? In a perfect world, everyone would be happy with the outcome of any type of conflict morally, or ethically. However, we all have minds, opinions, and that pesky thing called…the law. In the situation of Justin Ellsworth, he didn’t really have a choice at all. He died as an adult, fighting for his country, and his parents wanted access to his personal email. We ask, is this a breech of policy, or is it a right of the parents to see this email because he was their son, and they wanted to know his final thoughts? There are issues here though, that go beyond just what the parents wanted. Issues exist such as whether or not Justin himself would have wanted them to see it, and whether or not the internet provider had...

Email Personality

...KLA Article: Is Email Hiding Your Personality Page 1 of 2 Is Email Hiding Your Personality By Kendra Lee, President, KLA Group Let's Get Connected Email is so much easier to use for prospecting than the phone. You can write it at any time day or night. You don't have to worry about being hung up on and you won't catch your client "at a bad time." But it's also easily deleted with no response. When you put yourself into your email, your chances of getting prospects to respond escalate. You stand apart from the other sellers who blend together as Inbox clutter. Sound hard? It doesn't have to be. You know that it's your personality and message that distinguish you on the phone. But, when you write, you have to be really careful that the words you choose let your personality shine through. If your prospect can't feel your personality, you're no different than any other seller trying to get time on his calendar. Here's the story of two sellers I've been working with and their very different email prospecting results: Eric, who follows the email prospecting rules perfectly, and Mae, who breaks the rules and allows her personality to shine. Eric sells IT maintenance services. He does most of his prospecting via email because he doesn't like to cold call. He has an outstanding value proposition including impressive financial results clients have received in reducing unplanned IT expenditures. Eric adapts his value proposition to the group he's targeting and...

... unnecessary storage space in the recipient’s inbox and may load slowly, or not at all. Stick to one topic in a business email and write only the things that are appropriate for anyone to read, as email forwarding makes it possible for originally unintended parties to receive the email. Proper grammar and spelling is very important in business emails because it reflects on you and your abilities. Attachments should be prepared in a format that any recipient can easily access/download. SITUATION WHERE EMAIL SHOULD NOT BE USED IN CORPORATE COMMUNICATION The introduction of e-mail, instant messaging, social networking and other means of exchanging written messages has created additional alternatives in workplace communications. This increase in available options highlights the need for individuals to make choices based on their effectiveness in facilitating the communication process and accomplishing overall business objectives. Even with the immediate availability of e-mail and other means of communicating, face-to-face communication should not be overlooked as a viable alternative in today’s business environment. Meetings should be given consideration based on the advantages they can offer in certain situations. 1. Understand reactions to information being presented. Although written, telephone and face-to-face communication all rely on words, only the latter provides the ability to both observe body language and hear tone of voice. ...Workplace Paper Week 2, MGT/308 Cova, Luis The workplace in America has changed substantially in the last 35 years. Many organizations that were once primarily staffed with white associates now employ people from of various ethnicities in large numbers. Although the law was implemented to target hiring practices of federal contractors it was eventually amended to include companies in the private sector as well. Although Affirmative Action laws were met with resistance initially, and still remains a controversial topic within companies today; many organizations are more open accepting of multicultural make up of their associates than ever before. Today some companies have created departments that are structured to managing diversity within an organization. Email Marketing

...Take a moment to think about your average day. If you’re like many other marketers, a good chunk of your time is probably spent on social media – writing status updates, creating ads, monitoring your mentions, replying to wall posts, etc. Now, take a moment to think about the time you spend on email marketing – growing your list, crafting great email content, and looking at analytics on your list growth and engagement. If you find you’re spending a majority of your time on social media, and little to no time on your email list, it could be a potentially tragic mistake that could be costing you sales. Here’s why. Just the stats: users, open rates, and click through rates. With Facebook boasting over 1 billion active users per month and Twitter boasting 255 million, we certainly couldn’t blame you for being persuaded to focus a large portion of your marketing efforts on social media. But what you don’t see so frequently touted are the statistics on email usage. According to Radicati, the total number of worldwide email accounts was 3.9 billion in 2013, and projected to be 4.9 billion by 2017. To put this in perspective for you, there are 3x more email accounts than there are Facebook & Twitter accounts combined. From a marketing perspective though, it’s the statistics on reach and engagement that show the real story. Did you know that organic reach on Facebook (I.e. the number of your fans who actually see your posts in their Newsfeed) is only 6%? On the...

...Dear Sasha, There are five major components in communication when it concerns the workplace. These components are the sender/receiver, decoding, message, channel, and feedback. The sender is the person giving the information. This person’s job is to get their point across so that the receiver can understand them. Think of when you were going to school to get your degree. Your professor would be the sender and you Sasha would be the receiver. Your professor is giving you information to further your education. The next step would be decoding. When you are decoding something you are trying to figure out what you get from the message presented to you. For example, I could tell you that there are many benefits to you getting your bachelor’s degree. What would you get from this? Now here comes the big message. The message can either be very complicated or easy. It all depends on how the person presents this message. I could say something like, could you take this file to Mrs. Jones office. I can be very confusing if I hand you more than one file. If the message is misinterpreted it is my fault because I am the sender. I should of said, could you take the Milton file to Mrs. Jones office. Channeling is the way we communicate with each other. There are many forms like technology or even face to face. In the workplace it is important to know what form of communication should be used. If I am going to follow up with an interviewer I could give them a call or stop by their office. I......

Duty Drawback to Boast Export

..., which entails an easier process. According to DEDO, on an average, 90 per cent of yearly drawbacks are claimed and refunded under the flat rate scheme. According to the present policy, in order to claim drawback, exports must be sent off within two years of import of the raw materials, with exporters paying all import duties and taxes initially. Claims must be filed within six months of export, i.e. within six months of submitting the bill of entry. Additionally, the applicant needs to make a declaration that goods have actually been exported. On an average, about 150 applications are submitted each month for duty drawback, totalling around 1,800 applications a year. From July 2009 to March 2013, a total of 7,932 drawback applications were submitted to DEDO, with Tk 4.15 billion reimbursed against those in the same period. In fiscal year 2012-2013, TK 2.35 billion was budgeted for reimbursement of duty drawback against actual reimbursement of TK 786.1 million/TK 274.6 million in raw material inputs/utility bills during the preceding year. It is apparent that the duty drawback facility needs to be made accessible to a larger pool of exporters. The number of exporters enjoying the duty drawback benefits is insignificant in the backdrop of the country's emerging export sectors. BUILD initiated a study to dig the details of the current systems and processes for duty drawback, with an objective to suggest improvement of the present standards and practices. Its research......
