3-Day Diet Analysis

...3-Day Diet Analysis The 3-day diet analysis was very interesting to me, and has given me some very useful and challenging information pertaining to my health. I know I do not have the healthiest eating habits, and after using the SuperTracker I plan to do my best at changing my diet. My current eating habits are not very bad, but not very good or healthy. I do not eat breakfast, but when I do I eat breakfast I eat food that is for lunch or dinner. I know that is not good, but eating some breakfast food makes me feel sick. Honestly, I like to eat breakfast food at night. Lately, I have not wanted to eat breakfast at all. So when lunch time comes around I am starving and I sometimes eat more than I should. I also stuff myself when I am eating. I have this mentality that I should eat everything on my plate, even when I am full. The recommendations I received from the SuperTracker pertaining to my servings from each food group were mostly under the serving size. I received a good report in the protein category. I love to eat meat. The vegetable category was okay in some areas, but needs improvement. I also need to improve in the calorie area. Apparently, I was under my 1800 calories, but the empty calories I was over the limit. As I mentioned before my eating habits are not good at all. I can adjust my diet by eating the appropriate nutrients. I need to eat more fruits because my results were not good in that category. I can add...

Three Day Diet Analysis

...Three day diet analysis SCI/241 11/5/2012 Staying healthy is a hard thing to do, especially when you do not really have the time or motivation to pay attention to what you eat. I have a habit of buying and eating a lot of frozen foods, which includes frozen pizzas, beer battered fish filets, Mac and cheese, and garlic bread. I also cook some boxed dinners like hamburger or tuna helper to save time on cooking. In my daily diet there are usually not a lot of fruits and vegetables in my daily diet, unless there is some kind of tomato sauce or side’s corn or mixed vegetables. When I compared the three day analysis I found out that I do not have much of a pattern in my daily diet. Sometimes I eat a large amount of grain and other times I may eat the right amount of veggies. There has been a steady amount of bad fats in my diet and this plays a huge role in why I am a little overweight. I consumed 1738 calories in a day; my diet is not at all what the Pyramid recommends. I consumed: 1 ½ ounces of grains and the target is 6 ounces, 1 ¾ cups of vegetables and the target is 2 ½ cups, no fruit and the target was 1 ½ cups, ¾ cups of dairy and the target is 3 cups, and 2 ounces of proteins and the target is 5 ounces. My diet has more fat than recommended and I have...

...Diet Analysis Essay - the Results from a 3 Day Study Nutrition has played a big part in my life even prior to taking Biology 101. To say the least I am fascinated by nutrition. I enjoy reading Men's Health magazine and watching television shows like The Doctor's and Doctor Oz because they are filled with nutrition tips, and scientific studies about fitness and health. I constantly follow the latest nutritional news because and I am a firm believer that your diet is the biggest component of your health and I wish to make most of my life. Biology 101 has been an extremely useful and knowledgeable course because I can personally relate to it and can apply much of the information learned to my own life. The Diet Analysis project was wonderful because it gave me a first hand look at my own diet habits. My actual intakes of the different food groups were somewhat near what the "My Pyramid" had recommended. I was within range for grains, fruits and milk. My consumption of meat & beans and discretionary calories were 181% and 150% of my recommendation respectively. Vegetables on the other hand were severely low at only 35% of my recommended goal. It was evident from this basic food guide pyramid that I was over consuming meats/beans and discretionary calories and was under consuming vegetables. I definitely need to adjust my diet so that I will consume more vegetables and a slight increase in fruits. All together I need to consume an extra 2.5 cups of vegetables daily which I will...

Theory

...Healthy Eating Plan Comparison By Ronald Taylor University of Phoenix Nutrition is a very important part of life. Eating healthy requires that we change some of our current nutritional habits. Since week one, there have been a few minor changes in nutritional habits. For instance, now milk is more a part of the diet than before and grains have also seen an increase in the diet. In the first Food Diary Checkpoint, there was only a 0.1 cup of milk daily intake, while in the second Food Diary Checkpoint revealed that now there is an average intake of 1.5 cups of milk. Also, because of the incorporation of oatmeal into my diet there has been an increase in fiber. However, most of the results from the second Food Diary Checkpoint show that my diet basically consists of most of the same foods as before, foods that are low in nutrient density. For instance, in the 1st Food Diary Checkpoint, the diet still includes 2 waffles for breakfast instead of cereal. As aforementioned, oatmeal is now a part of my breakfast, but most foods in my diet have remained unchanged. Therefore, the results of the diet still compared quite poorly to the recommendations received from the Food Guide Pyramid. Moreover, for some food groups there were still less than 1% of the servings recommended. The totals indicated that there is an unsatisfactory consumption of the foods recommended by the Food Guide Pyramid. Primarily, there still needs to be an increase in milk intake and an increase...

...Improvements in Health and Nutrition Angela Callicutt Dr. Franklin English 115 02/23/2013 Improvements in Health and Nutrition for Schools Changes in schools reveal the analysis of kids getting unhealthy menus which causes them not to get enough nutrition. In today’s society schools as a general, most kids are not eating healthy. The school lunch menus have a lot of unhealthy items on them. Kids do not get enough nutrition eating what schools have for lunch. The best place to start out is at a young age where kids are getting the right nutrition. On menus at schools kids eat unhealthy items like pizza and tater tots. Some snack machines have unhealthy items in them too. I think there should be an improvement in the health and nutrition of kids. As stated by (Michelle, 2004), “snacking is a common feature of the diet of adolescents and promoting healthy snacks that may constitute a starting point in the fight against tooth decay and non-communicable disease later in life”. In school lunch programs fruits and vegetables are what kids can start out eating at their young age. I think most kids aren’t eating healthy because some parents can’t afford to feed them. For parents who can’t afford to feed their kids they are participating in the school’s government free lunch program, but the free lunch program still has a lot of unhealthy items on it. Here are some quotes stated by people and their opinions of the school program. As stated by (Domel, 1997), “a questionnaire...

...Crandall Abstract Our group has decided to market an existing product, but we would like to add a variety pack to this product. We feel if Coca-Cola would add a variety pack to their existing products it would offer more choices for the consumer and we feel this would increase sales by meeting the needs of those consumers with different taste. We would like for the variety pack to consist of Coke, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero. Not only would this benefit different age groups it would increase sales for Coca-Cola. Because it allows convenience to the consumers who have church events, work parties, or school events. 1. Executive Summary   Since Coca Cola was launched as a company, the company has exceeded expectations by a long shot. Innovators who get into the practice of trying to market something like a soda can sometimes fall behind the competition as other sodas have in the past such as generic brand sodas produced by companies such as Food Lion and Wal-Mart. Coca Cola strives to continue providing better soda quality than its competitors by hiring only the best employees and producing the highest quality product while ensuring that distribution is also performed effectively. Coca Cola intends on using its large fan base of the product to continue giving their consumers a high quality product enjoyed by millions throughout the world.
