The Significance of Popularity Being “popular” is something that crosses everyone’s mind one way or another; whether it’s important or not, whether it makes a difference or not, or what it even means to be popular. Some people have said that they think being popular is important when one is a student, but I disagree. People think that in order to be successful and happy in high school, you have to make an image for yourself and be popular, but what they do not realize is that all you need is to be comfortable with yourself in order to be happy, and that’s what leads to success. However, if being yourself happened to lead to being well-liked and popular, than that’s a good thing. I disagree with the thought that being popular is important. Being “popular” in today’s high school student’s eyes is related to wearing nice clothes, hanging out with kids that party in a big clique, doing endless group outings together, and being well known in your grade. These things are not bad if they are not abused, but they are not really important in the big picture of things. What is important in high school is who you grow to become before you decide what you want to do with your life when you move on to adulthood. It’s about shaping yourself so that you can be successful in your later years. When it all comes down to it in the big picture of life, it is not going to matter whether or not you went to that party in eleventh grade or if you had that awesome bag that you had to have. What is going to matter is how you did in your classes, what you learned, who you met and what you learned from them, your experiences and what you took from them. If you are someone that does well and has it somewhat together and you just so happen to make many friends and are a social butterfly, then that’s great! You have done what is necessary for your individual and yet you have still managed to

...IT Project Proposal Background: Our Company is a small regional software developer, specializing in custom applications. In order to cut costs, improve redundancy and many other benefits, the company is deciding to change its current IT infrastructure to better take advantage of cloud computing. The current infrastructure is setup in a very traditional way. The company co-locates dedicated servers to a datacenter to serve as their backbone, utilizing middleware and specialized servers to suit their needs. This means they must pay for their own equipment, bandwidth and other assorted costs associated with the datacenter. In the office, they also have a traditional setup involving routers, switches and some small-scale servers to accommodate office applications. Proposed change: The Company wants to start taking advantage of cloud computing to cut their down costs and simplify their IT structure. By utilizing services such as Amazon’s EC2 and Google’s Enterprise Apps, they believe this would greatly improve the simplicity and cost structure of current IT infrastructure. Instead of hosting their applications and data on dedicated, fully-owned and co-located servers, the company will instead employ the services of Amazon EC2. This will provide them with a simple cost structure, and redundancy, while at the same time removing the need for full-time IT staff to manage it. In addition, instead of paying for licenses to use Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, Outlook, etc), they will...
