The Book “Bolivar American Liberator” by Marie Arana not only shows a well written, comprehensive and readable Biography of Bolivar but it also touches the fact that Bolivar (the Latin American hero) is not so known in the America. Furthermore, the book simples show Bolivars life from end to finish along with his public and private sides. It not only showed how Bolivar is seen as a hero due to his accomplishments (liberated most of South America from the Spanish) but it also went into detail when it came to his beliefs, family and romantic life. Through out the essay I will not only discuss on what kind of mentality and beliefs Bolivar had or how my life journey has allowed me to see how important power is but I will also mention why devotion …show more content…
The lesson I have learn through out the years is that there are people out there who simply just can’t have enough and will do anything to gain more and more power. Just like in “Bolivar” cases he showed how the Spaniards were that greedy they wanted more land and more of its value that came with it. That obviously doesn’t happen today but what you do see which is somehow similar is that you see presidential candidates buying elections and lying to the people just to gain more power and more of its value. Furthermore, Something I did find interesting was what Bolivar stated “A man like me is dangerous to a popular government, a threat to national sovereignty” Bolivar 271. In other words, this is what a true leader sounds like, this is what a leader should sound and think like, this is the kind of leader and person those people who have the power fear from. On the other hand, it made me a better person by making me become much more aware of what is going on around me to not trust the media so much. And because I been a little more out there and much more evolved in the presiditenal elections now that I think about it Bolivar statement reminds me of what Bernie Sanders said “He said I was dangers and he’s right I am dangers for Walt street”. Although there are two different statements, both statements somehow relate to each other they both are attacking statements meant for those who are in power and continue to want more of
