1. Define heat.
Heat- is energy transferred from one body to another by thermal interactions. The transfer of energy can occur in a variety of ways, among them conduction, radiation, and convection. Heat is not a property of a system or body, but instead is always associated with a process of some kind, and is synonymous with heat flow and heat transfer.

2. Differentiate heat from temperature
The heat is the energy transferred from one body while the temperature is the amount of hotness or coldness of a body.

3. How heat is related to thermal energy
Heat is thermal energy in the process of transfer or conversion across a boundary of one region of matter to another, as a result of a temperature difference. In engineering, the terms "heat" and "heat transfer" are thus used nearly interchangeably (heat transfer is the rate of heat flow in time, or the heat power), since heat is always understood to be in the process of transfer. The energy transferred by heat is called by other terms (such as thermal energy or latent energy) when this energy is no longer in net transfer, and has become static. Thus, heat is not a static property of matter. Matter does not contain heat, but rather thermal energy, and even the thermal energy is subject to transformations into and out of other types of energy, and so can be considered to be "conserved" only when these processes are small.

4. Explain how temperature is measured

6. Explain how heat is transferred by conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction- Heat conduction occurs as hot, rapidly moving or vibrating atoms and molecules interact with neighboring atoms and molecules, transferring some of their energy (heat) to these neighboring particles. In other words, heat is transferred by conduction when adjacent atoms vibrate against one another, or as electrons move from one atom to another. Conduction is the most significant means of heat transfer within a solid or between solid objects in thermal contact. Fluids—especially gases—are less conductive. Thermal contact conductance is the study of heat conduction between solid bodies in contact.
Convection- is the transfer of heat from one place to another by the movement of fluids, a process that is essentially the transfer of heat via mass transfer. Bulk motion of fluid enhances heat transfer in many physical situations, such as (for example) between a solid surface and the fluid. Convection is usually the dominant form of heat transfer in liquids and gases.
Radiation- is energy emitted by matter as electromagnetic waves due to the pool of thermal energy that all matter possesses that has a temperature above absolute zero. Thermal radiation propagates without the presence of matter through the vacuum of space. Thermal radiation is a direct result of the random movements of atoms and molecules in matter. Since these atoms and molecules are composed of charged particles (protons and electrons), their movement results in the emission of electromagnetic radiation, which carries energy away from the surface.

7. Give example in each form of heat.

My Super Hero

...My superheroes name is Dresden Myers. He is of a stocky build but do not mistaken him for being slow . He's not supernaturally strong but strong for a person of his build. His powers consist of being able to project sound waves from his palms . He uses headphones to amplifie his ability. He projects what he hears in his headphones through his hands and the greater the bass is the more powerful the sound wave is. Boooom! As I got launched out of a Warehouse looking down at the street below me I thought to myself how did I end up in this position. Okay let me backtrack some for you my name is Dresden Myers I am 19 years old and I am a superhero...okay maybe not an official superhero but I'm working my way up. I am what is know as a epic. an epic is a person with supernatural abilities the power varies each epic has their own unique power for instance some can fly others have super strength and then there are some like me. There are differnt levels on how powerful an epic can be the leveles go up to level 10. I have a very special power I can project sound waves through my palms and depending on weather I'm listen to music with some really wicked bass I can crank up the tempo on those waves. It's not much but it's something and I plan on making a name for myself in this city. So my pal Rodney is also an epic but his power is really unique he can see all the wave links between all elctronical devices which makes it easy for him to gather information about gangs......

Indian Rupee Depreciation

...The Indian Rupee has depreciated to an all time low with respect to the US Dollar. On 28th August 2013, the Indian rupee had gone down to 68.825 against the Dollar but the situation was somewhat revived by the Reserve Bank of India that decided to open a special window for helping state owned oil companies – Indian Oil Corp Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corp and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. The beneficiaries will be able to buy dollars through this window till further notice is provided. These companies, together, require about 8.5 billion dollars every month to import oil and it is expected that this will help them meet the requirements. This has had an immediate effect as is evident from the fact that the INR has started at 67 against the USD at the early proceedings in the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market. The question, however, is why this is happening. There are several reasons that can be enumerated in such a scenario: Basic law of economics As per the rudimentary laws of economics if the demand for USD in India exceeds its supply then its worth will go up and that of the INR will come down in that respect. It may be that importers are the major entities who are in need of the dollar for making their payments. Another possibility here could be that the Foreign Institutional Investors are withdrawing their investments in the country and taking them elsewhere. This can create a shortfall in supply of the dollar in India. In fact, of late, the FIIs have been heading to greener......
