Both Parents Should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising a Child.

...Both parents should assume equal responsibility in raising a child. “Single-parent families are families with children under the age of 18 headed by a parent who is widowed or divorced and not remarried, or by a parent who has never married. (answers.com/single parent families). Both parents should be held responsible in raising and caring for their child. Each year there are 4,130,665 children born in the United States. (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/births.html) Of these children, one in four will be products of single parent homes whether it is being raised by the mother or the father. According to the U.S. Census Bureau as of November, 2009, there are approximately 13.7 million single parents in the United States, and those parents are responsible for raising 21.8 million children. That was years ago so the numbers have increased since then. These results do show however that these people that have found themselves as single parents did start out in committed relationships and had no intentions of raising their child or children alone. (Single Parent Statistics By Jennifer Wolf). The position that I take regarding this topic is that both parents should be held responsible for taking care of their child. Once paternity has been established then it is the lifelong job of each parent to provide for their child not only financially but as a support of some sort. The parent’s actions should be in the best interest of the child or children whether they decide...

Both Parents Should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising a Child.

...Is it true that both parents from a family should bare an equal responsibility in order to take care of their own children? I think it’s essential to raises up a child by providing them love and care from both sides of parents because as we grow up, our parents have already taken two really important roles to teach us many life lessons but also to nurture us by his or her life-long experiences. However I think due to gender differences, both parents may have different views and roles when they’re teaching the children. More importantly, if both of them assume equal responsibility in raising a child then the child may live in a family that surrounded by warmest love but at the same time the possibility of family breakdown or separation will be prevented and the child may have a positive attitude on choosing the right path in their upcoming futures, too. Throughout the childhoods of children, what are some major roles of both parents and why is it so important to share balance responsibilities in order to raise a child? To answer this question, we need to notice that in an economic perspective, nowadays in the society of Hong Kong, fathers still pretend a really major role in order to work outside and earn money to support the needs of the family, especially the tuition fees of children. But also due to this reason, fathers in a family who act as a breadwinner will always have less time to stay at home in order to communicate with their children properly and also to play with...

...Both Parents Should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising a Child Dr. Weisblum Critical Thinking-PHI 210 Strayer University December 15, 2013 Both Parents should assume equal responsibility in raising a child A child’s health and well-being are important and also contribute to a healthy, productive adolescence and adulthood. Parents can play an important role in helping their children use or strengthen behaviors, skills, attitudes, and motivation that promote their physical and mental health and overall well being in childhood, adolescence and well into their adulthood. (McBride, 1998) As you grow up, you are taught many life lessons from your experienced parents. Your parents' duty is to nurture you, so that you can grow up to become a person who is strong and able to support yourself. (Allen, 2013) Parents must realize that when it comes to raising a child, they both must put in an equal amount of effort so that the child learns new things, prevents family breakdowns or arguments and prevents the child from straying off the 'right' path as they say. It is a typical situation where the father is the one who is assumed as not being apart of raising their child. The first reason why both parents, a father and mother, should have equal opportunities to raise their children is that the father, by his masculinity nature, will be better to give his child the sense of braveness and teach them to defend themselves against anyone who could hurt them in their environment...

...The one thing that every eighteen year old student in Malaysia fears the most besides the S.P.M. exams is National service. A number of students are chosen from every school in every state in Malaysia to go for National service training. Out of all the students chosen only a few will be excited to go for this training. The rest will be too lazy or just too scared to go for the training. I was chosen and like the rest at first I felt like it was a waste of time especially since I had to go for the second batch. I tried to come up with as many excuses not to go but my parents said that I had to go. So the time came after six months off waiting after getting the message that was sure to be the death of me. So after months of waiting the day finally came where I had to board the bus to Damai, Johor. Well to tell you the truth I was a little excited that I was about to go on a kind of adventure that would may or may not change my life. When the bus left the station I was a little worried about living my family behind. But that all changed when we hit the highway. There were hills that were filled with so much greenery that it was so hard to believe. Being a city kid the only jungle I see every day was the concrete jungle. The guys and girls who were on the same bus with me were singing and cracking jokes on the bus. After five hours of travelling, we arrive at the camp and training center. As we entered, I felt like a part of me had died. The campsite was like a war zone. The...

Parents must realize that when it comes to raising a child, they both must put in an equal amount of effort so that the child learns new things, prevents family breakdowns and prevents the child from straying off the 'right' path. You learn to cook when you're helping mum bake cookies in the kitchen, you learn to fish when you're out with dad camping, but if only mum teaches you how to cook and dad is 'too busy' to take you out to go fishing, then you've lost a new experience you could've discovered. There are so many different things your parents can teach you. But if only one parent puts in that effort and the other doesn't, then your knowledge and mind will not be able to become more open and aware of all the wonderful possibilities out there. Therefore, both parents should assume equal responsibility when raising a child.Your dad always comes late from work and never has any time for you and your mum is always around you, looking after you, caring for you. When your mum has finally 'had enough', what will happen then? Your dad's too busy, your mum is too stressed, how are you to go about your daily life once the fights between mum and dad become too much? Unfortunately due to parents not putting in an...

Both Parents Responsable

... Both Parents Should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising a Child A child growing up with both parents and a child growing up in single parent house have significant differences. The well being and development of a child, both psychologically and physically, rely vastly on how well each parent performs their roles. Taking care of a child is not an easy task but it is crucial that both parents assume equal responsibility in raising a child since children gets behaviors, manners from their mother and responsibility and braveness from their father. In a typical house with both parents, father works for income of the family and mother take care of the child so both parents have plenty of time to perform their roles well. For example, a child’s father will work for income to provide the family’s needs whereas a child’s mother will take care of the child for well being. As the result, the child gets care, warmth and wisdom from both parents. These make the child to grow up without any insecurity. Also by having both parents, the child will get the knowledge that only a mother or a father can give. All these factors contribute in raising a strong, healthy and well balanced child. On the other hand, in a typical single parent house since there’s only a person, that person have to be both father and mother at the same time which means supplying the family with resources for surviving and take care of the child. By only having one person doing the job for both parents, always...

...The Equal Sharing of Parental Responsibility Act The Equal Sharing of Parental Responsibility Act requires that parents take equal responsibility for the costs of raising their children. The Act begins with a presumption of a fifty/fifty sharing of physical placement of the children between the parents, and neither parent would make support payments to the other. This presumption does not apply if either parent is shown to be unfit. The parties may stipulate to a different placement arrangement under the following guidelines. A per diem cost for raising children, based on the costs of domestic service providers, food, clothing, medical insurance, shelter and entertainment, determined by analysis of actual market costs shall be established by the Department of Health and Human Services. The cost of domestic service providers shall include the cost of day, evening and overnight childcare, doing laundry, food preparation and clean up, chauffeuring children and any other services required when one has children. The parties may stipulate that one parent will pay the other a minimum of 90% of the per diem cost of raising the children, for any days above 183 per year, for which the non paying spouse takes physical placement of the children.
