When Stryithio was searching for food and his friends, leading ten Britons from Vercobrix, was cautiously approaching the military camp. Vercobrix had persuaded him when to attack the military camp. Briton, after they avoided the guards, quietly climbed over the rampart and entered the military camp. They held torches in their hands so that they could set fire to the granary. They quickly proceeded because earlier they found out the situation at the barn.
Modestus, not knowing that the Britons had arrived, was sitting under the barn. He was so greatly hungry in order to despair his life. He was waiting for Strythio to return, he looked out through the crack. “I have been waiting for Strythio for three hours now. “I am on fire! The flames are eating me!” Then the headlong band of soldiers escaped by fleeing from the Britons. As soon as they broke through the entrance, he met up with Strythio and his friend. He snatched the wine in the wine jar from his hand and poured the wine on the tunic. “Modestus is insane!” astonished Strythio shouted. Modestus. Modestus however, neglected Strythio’s shouting, pushed the wine-jar into the entrance. Then having leaned into the wine-jar he raised big shouts. “Help! Help! The Britons have captured me!” At once the band of soldiers, lead by Valerius, hurried to the barn. Modestus shouts were so great that the whole military camp was filled. The commander ran himself up to the military camp so that the noise would find out about the plan. Exulted Modestus said, “Prepare to ambush the Britains.” Vercobrix is imprisoned with his Britons under the granary.” It was a short fight there were a big number of Roman soldiers in order to overpower the Britons.
