In the afternoon the students in the classroom get again in small group, this time they had an activity where they need it to finish a card for someone special since it was Valentine. Each student was called one at a time, while the student was waiting for his turn; he sat down on the carpet and grab a book to read. I did ask the student if he can please read the story to me “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See”, he was able to retell the story by looking at the picture. During this time I was able to hear him clearly when he spoke, through the course of the day I notice that many of the things that he was saying it was a little bit hard to understand, many times the other students restated what he was trying to say, or ask him several …show more content…
The teacher told him several times that he was only going to use a marker and that there was no paint involve, she made a line herself so he can see but he still refuses to do it. The teacher holds his hands to do it hand over hand, and he started crying. I did ask if the student always gets like this when doing this kind of activity, but the teacher says that he thought he was going to use paint and he do not like to use paint and refuse to put paint on his hands. I do understand that there are students that have sensory problems with certain stuff and in the case of this student; he doesn’t like paint, either because it might feel weird on his hand or something else. The teacher was not able to tell me the reason why, but in this situation, I would of show the student real paint and the color pencil and explain to the student that this time we were not going to use paint but the color pencil. Maybe that way he was able to associate that paint and colored pencil are two totally different things. Also including different kind of texture for student to feel with his hands and incorporate things that are wet, so he can little by little take away the fear of the paint might

Speech Outline for Bear Attacks

...your own business when suddenly a large brown bear comes out of no where. What do you do? Do you run? Do you play dead? B.Thesis Statement: This evening I will inform you about how to react to a brown bear attacks. Preview of Main Points: I will tell you about how common brown bear attacks are, how to prevent bear attacks, and what do to when you are face to face with one. Body A.Brown bear attacks are not that common. According to Websters Dictionary a brown bear is “ any of several bears predominantly brown in color that are usually considered a single species including the grizzly bear and that formerly inhabited western North America from the barrens of Alaska to Northern Mexico and much of Europe and Asia but are now much restricted in range.” According to Yellowstone National Park's website, www.nps.gov/yell, the chances of a bear attack in their park is approximately 1in 2 million. You are 10 times more likely to be attacked by a dog than a brown bear. (Even though the chances of a bear attack are low you should still know how to prevent one.) B.Do research as to where you are staying to see if there are bears in the area. If you believe there is a bear around you shouldn't be stealthy. Do not bury garbage into the ground. Do not feed a bear at all, according to www.dnr.alaska.gov a biologist named Dick Shideler, with the Department of Fish and Game in Fairbanks, said that “once a bear associates people with food, it becomes...

Financial Elements

...should have a point and reach a conclusion, even if tentative, and you should try to convince the reader that your point is correct. This is the most important single point in writing a good essay. It will help you make it well organized, and well-written. Clarity of thought and argument provide the necessary basis for a clear writing style. Thus, just like making a legal case in the courtroom, you follow a logical progression, using data or evidence to support each step of your argument, until you reach a logical conclusion. What counts as a good argument, or a solid conclusion? There is room for considerable creativity here, depending on the topic. It is easier to say what does not count as a good conclusion. For example, you should never just review a study or studies, and conclude that "more work is necessary". More work is always necessary, and YOUR work in this essay is to reach a more substantive conclusion than that. A recapitulation of some experiments with no substantive conclusions does not constitute a good essay, however accurate. State the point of the essay in the introduction, using the first person (I argue, I believe, etc.). For example: "I will argue here that the frustration/aggression hypothesis is based on an oversimplified and inadequate psychological model, and is thus unable to explain most cases of prejudice that have been analyzed". 2. It is key to back up each crucial point that you make with data. Don't just cite the study, but briefly describe its...

...Small Talk—Engaging Children Who Have Communication Needs By Jan Bunce and Terri Mitchell part of the conversation. Consider the following example: see?” Such repetition helps children to anticipate what comes next and to become familiar with the story. Eventually they will begin to use the repeated phrases themselves, as in this example: ommunication is nearly always the foremost concern of parents and teachers of children with special needs, regardless of the type of disability a child might have. For most children, talking is just “doing what comes naturally.” The ability to express what’s important to them develops smoothly and easily. But what happens when talking does not come as naturally? In most classrooms, the more children listen, the less they talk. Therefore, it’s important to allow time for children to carry on conversations with adults and peers. Remember, too, that opportunities for children’s conversations occur throughout the day in a High/Scope program. Here are some ideas for supporting children’s language. They are helpful for all children, but particularly those with special communication needs: U Encourage natural conversation. Often work time is considered the time for choice, play, and talking. But children will have more to say if freedom of expression is encouraged during all parts of the daily routine. By conversing naturally with others, both in groups and one-on-one with peers or adults, children develop trust and a sense of security. We...
