Organizational structure is the hierarchy of authority, communication, duties, and rights within an organization. Organizational helps with assigning roles and power, how responsibilities are distributed, coordinated, controlled, and how the information is passed along between the different levels of management (Business Dictionary, 2013). The structure of the organization depends on its objectives and strategies. At the top of the organizational structure for the California WIC (women, infants, and children). At the top of the organizational structure is the WIC Program Division Chief and then the WIC Program Assistant Division Chief. These two individuals are over the organization. From here the office of technician, quality assurance, and the staff services analyst (SSA). These departments are over the operations part of the organization. The Nutrition and Program Services is the next level down along with the Vendor and training services, and the Financial Management and Support. From this level the office positions are then coordinated and controlled. Depending on its level.
Is the organization governmental, private, for-profit, or nonprofit?-
The WIC is a nonprofit agency and is federally funded health and nutrition community program that caters to women, infants, and children. WIC provides checks that can be used for purchasing healthy supplemental foods from approved nutrition education, vendors, and are also used to help find healthcare and other services provided in the community (California Department of Public Health, 2013).
How does building community affect the value of the organization?-
Building community affects the value of the organization because it serves the community that it is in and it is there to help the individuals in the community who are in need. It is a positive aspect in the community. As the organization grows the more it gets to the know community and the more individuals it serve. The more community that is built the better the organization will become at serving them. The WIC program can also find out what is actually needed in the community. Anyone in the community may be a potential client or customer. When an organization interacts with the community it is easier for them to get more business.
