For this assignment I have to write a factsheet and I must write about a selected business and how the business obtains the cooperation of their employees.
The business I will be writing about is Tesco.
Contract of Employees –
A contract of employment is an agreement specifying terms and conditions under which a person consents to perform certain duties as directed and controlled by an employer in return for an agreed upon wage salary. It can be either oral or written, or express and implied. An example of this at Tesco is different types of contacts given at Tesco the higher position employees such as managers and store directors will have permanent contracts whereas store assistants and cashiers may have part time contracts.
Equal Pay – Every employee who does the same work should be given the same wage as another. For example at Tesco if a certain store assistant gets higher pay then another, this is unfair and it is also against the law.
Discrimination – Employees at Tesco cannot be unfairly dismissed and discriminated. Each employer and employee must adhere and should not discriminate any individual. If any person is discriminated, then they should immediately let someone know, so action can be taken. Every individual has the right to protest and report this.
Dismissal – When an employee is dismissed, the employer should have a valid reason. The worker should not be unfairly dismissed and if this is the case, then he/she can hand in a report. They don’t always have to give the employee notice.
Employee involvement techniques-
Work groups- work groups is when you work in groups it is pretty much self explanatory, an example of this at Tesco is that at Tesco the stores are separated into different departments in which staff work in different groups,
