A brief introduction to Tesco.
Tesco PLC is a global grocery and general retailer and is the largest retailer in Britain. Worldwide, there are around 5380 stores. Measured by revenues, Tesco is the third largest retailer in the world, after Wal-Mart and Carrefour and in terms of profit, Tesco is the second largest retailer in the world, after Wal-Mart. Tesco is also the biggest private sector employer in the UK, with over 360,000 employees worldwide. As a company, Tesco has grown. They have gone from a company, just selling groceries to providing a wide range of products and services such as loans, phone and broadband, to car and home insurance.
