Ethics

...within all levels of the company employees (Shin, Sung, Choi, & Kim, 2015). This shows that if business, organizations or groups don’t have ethical leaders then all affected. As leaders how does one stay true to the traits that one was taught in either business school or just in day to day life? When it comes down to being an ethical leader one always has to remind themselves am “I doing the right thing” even when their bosses are not looking. This can be hard especially if they are running a section that does not get scrutinized as much as others, but in the end trusting the workers to have their back as mangers/leaders should be expected if they are morally and ethically right. When it comes to management it has become clear through research that top management is the primary institutional enabler when it comes to employee’s environment and situations (Shin, Sung, Choi, & Kim, 2015). If a leader show’s that they have those ethical traits from the beginning, they will have the trust of their people. Now how can one show their people that they are ethical, well there are many things that can be done. According to Managerial Ethics: Managing the Psychology of Morality by Marshall Schiminke he states, There are many different ethical leadership items that make up a good leader, 1) Conducts his/her personal life in an ethical manner, 2) Defines success not just by results but also the way that they are obtained, 3) Listens to what employees have to say, 4)......

...changing environments. Elements of the approach can be found in Schumpeter (1942), Penrose ( 1959), Nelson and Winter ( 1982), Prahalad and Hamel (1990), Teece (1976, 1986a, 1986b, 1988) and in Hayes, Wheelwright, and Clark (1988): Because this approach emphasizes the development of management capabilities, and difficult to imitate combinations of organizational, functional and technological skills, it integrates and draws upon research in such areas as the management of R&D, product and process development, technology transfer, intellectual property, manufacturing, human resources, and organizational learning. Because these fields are often viewed as outside the traditional boundaries of strategy, much of this research has not been incorporated into existing economic approaches to strategy issues. As a result, dynamic capabilities can be seen as an emerging and potentially integrative approach to understanding the newer sources of competitive advantage. We suggest that the dynamic capabilities approach is promising both in terms of future research potential and as an aid to management endeavoring to gain competitive advantage in increasingly demanding environments. To illustrate the essential elements of the dynamic capabilities approach, the sections that follow compare and contrast this approach to other models. So by the turn of the 21st century Marks and Spencer had become vulnerable to hostile takeovers with its ever falling share prices and low profit margins. .
