...Study Notes Bus/100 Research and studies are underway but the disorder is rising. Hopefully in the 21st century research for the disorder grow and remarkable results are discovered. Although, there is no direct affect on this issue is one that is interesting and eagerly awaiting a cure. The study of ADHD should be funded through some type of medical genetic research funding. It should not come from the taxpayers. Tax payers are all ready paying taxes on thing that are felt to be important but also un-important. The funding should come from volunteer funding to medical research. There are so many ADHD cases that it would not be hard to receive funding for this if a cure could be found. This is not at the top of the list for medical research. There are more pressing issues that would be above ADHD studies. In conclusion, this paper has summarized how ADHD is related to the course of current studies in biology 115. It has explained why this particular topic caught my attention to write about. The paper gave a detailed reason why this topic is not a direct affect. It has given the reason for research and how it should be funded. ...1) Identify the pros and cons of the partnership as a form of ownership. The pros and cons of the partnership as a form of ownership are that: General partnerships have many benefits, but the most compelling is the ease with which they can be set up and be maintained. The pros of partnerships are its flexibility where in partnership agreements; the partners are free to set their responsibilities and benefits as they see the needs of the business dictate. The structure of the organization and the distribution of profits and losses are much more flexible in a partnership than they are in a corporation. Partnerships are also considered as a discrete asset and can be transferred to other people or estates. The cons of partnership are that all partners doing business are potentially and personally liable for all business debts and lawsuits. Each partner is financially responsible for his or her share of the business debt and it is the partner with the greatest assets who loses the most if the business fails. The unlimited liability of partnership is not only the advantage but also a disadvantage. 1) Discuss funding options for small businesses. The funding options for small businesses are debt financing, equity, venture capital: Debt Financing is a way where many small businesses start up with loans and having good credit with an established bank will help the small business in getting debt. ...The three fundamental concepts and principles of the American legal system I chose were the economic analysis of law, religion, and the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression. There was a similarity with each of these areas where they were connected in some way or another. The economic analysis of the law is especially emphasized in the legal system of the United States. Why is the economic analysis so important? There are several factors that incline the American legal system to economics. One is the legislative function of the American courts, which encourages American lawyers to think legislatively. They have to think about policy, match ends to means and balance competing interests. Another factor is the fluidity of the American legal profession, in which lawyers, in the course of their careers, may serve as academics, advocates, politicians, consultants, practitioners, government officials or judges. Yet another factor is the prestige of applied economics in the United States; and the desire of American economists to apply current theory to the law. The final factor is the interest of many lawyers in the problems raised by monopolies stimulated by enforcement of antitrust laws and the regulation of public utilities and common carriers. Another issue I believe to be important is "religion" how is it to be defined. This issue is crucial to international human rights law since the protections afforded religious freedom by the various international...

I have been in numerous work places where the communication was poor and I have been in work place environments where the communication flowed and we were very successful in getting the job done. Understanding each other and what each other bring to the table, brings a level of respect amongst the employees in the work environment. There was one time when I was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri my new job was going to be a instructor, teaching new soldiers the job of Combat Engineer. My part of that process was teaching them demolition training in which we teach them inert training and when they passed that, they were allowed to go outside to the demolition range and blow up C-4 and dynamite. Effective communication between myself and other instructors was paramount as we had to weed out soldiers that needed more training and wasn’t yet ready to use the real stuff. We had to continuously confer with each other every hour sometimes every thirty minutes to make sure that we were on the same page reference to the soldiers. ...To understand the important role that business plays in the economy and its influence on your standard of living, imagine a world in which you personally had to produce everything you consume. You would have to grow your own food, sew your own clothes, cook all of your meals, and build your own car, computer, cell phone, house, and furniture. It would be impossible to actually complete all of these activities on your own. Only a fraction of these activities could be completed because it takes a lot of time and resources to learn how and to build a car, computer, house, and so forth. Time and resources are scarce, and people have to make choices about how they spend them. Because business is present in the economy, we are able to consume and enjoy many more goods and services than we otherwise could if we had to produce everything on our own. You eat food that is grown and often prepared by someone else. Your clothes are sewn by someone else. Your car, MP3 player, computer, and cell phone were produced by someone else. The movies you watch and the music you listen to were all created by someone else. If you produced everything on your own, you would have little access to medical and dental care. These items are a part of everyday life and would not be available if not for markets and business. For-profit and nonprofit organizations play important roles in the economy. For-profit organizations produce goods and services, and provide employment with the primary goal of generating...

The majority has been in Automotive Components but more recently Refractory Solutions. The chain of command at my job goes Plant Manager, Shift Supervisors, Line Operator, and Line Helpers. All of them oversee their respective subordinates. Over the past 30+ years, natural degradation and poor communication lead to low morale and low production. In an attempt to curb some of these issues, a simple and effective tool was implemented. A suggestion board. The board has several different sections. The first is for posting employee concerns. Once a post is put up it is determined by a committee to be “doable” or not. If “doable”, the post progresses to the next section which explains the plan of the action. If not, an explanation as to why is given. The plan of action lists an estimated start and finish time frame. Once that period begins the post is moved to the “in progress” section. Then finally the completed section. The board itself is bordered by employee family photos and encouraging quotes. This expresses to the employee that the company encourages a family oriented environment. It’s a non-verbal way of saying “the things that are important to you, are important to us”. Workers are also encouraged to put up silly photos as you are more likely...

...Assignment 1 BUS 100 May 16, 2012   The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD, 2010) has identified alarming levels of growth in urbanization and consumption in a new report, and describes the crucial role of business in the transition to sustainability. According to the report, "Business and Development: Challenges and Opportunities in a Rapidly Changing World," published by WBCSD (2010), "The world is experiencing a historic shift of economic and political power from the traditional base of industrialized countries to the emerging economies." As the report points out, by 2050, three of the four largest economies -- China, India, and Brazil -- will be those of countries now described as developing. As development in those and other countries intensifies, their populations will become increasingly urban. By 2050, when the world's population is expected to be about 9 billion, 70 percent of the world's population will live in urban environments, with the great majority living in cities in developing countries. "Urbanization is happening fast," the report observes, "And most of it is being poorly managed, putting hundreds of millions of the urban poor in harm's way."As the economic emergence of developing countries continues, global consumption patterns will become more critical. "Global consumption patterns and trends are putting unsustainable and increasing stress on the Earth's ecosystems, the supply of material resources needed for industrial growth...

...Creating, Financing, and Marketing a Business The Partnership There are several pros and cons of the partnership as a form of ownership. These are discussed in the succeeding paragraphs. The pros will be discussed first. The first pro of partnership is the ability to combine resources. When partners join forces towards a common goal, they are able to compliment the weaknesses of one and enhance the strength of others. These resources can come in many forms. Very often, the individual or party with the knowledge or product might not have the capital funding to start the business. They can enter into a partnership with someone who can provide the needed finical resources. The second pro of partnership is the idea of shared risk. When partners start a business, the risk of failure and financial liability is divided and shared amongst owners. The amount or extent of liability of each owner varies with different partnerships. These guidelines are usually outlined by a predefined arrangement. The third pro of a general partnership is that they are easier to form than corporations. According to legalzoom.com, “Another benefit of general partnerships is their simplicity and flexibility.
