They are a leader in the food service industry and continue to incorporate new and innovative ways to keep current customers and attract new customers. They have been in business since 1981, though they have undergone several name and owner changes. Their headquarters are in Richmond Heights, Missouri, and Ken Rosenthal is the founder. They are considered to be a Fast Casual Bakery-Café and their signature item is their fresh baked bread. Throughout this paper we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Panera and their competitors to get a better understanding of their market position and where they go from this day forward.
